The media keeps reporting on the largest oil reserves in the world in Venezuela. When countries report their oil reserves the figures are not questioned. This graph shows Venezuela's oilfield reported reserves year over year with modest growth until 2010. Then in 2011 it spikes. Why such a drastic increase when their industry was beginning decline? These reports open lines of credit. They can say proven reserves all they want. I believe it as much as the latest BLS numbers.
