Gluta-c skin whitening lotion
Yes this one. Well if in case you don’t remember, it’s time to tell you about the results I got from testing it. It’ll be reaaaal quick. I promise. 😉
So is it an effective skin whitening lotion? We’ll see about it in a bit.
So yeah, I’ve been testing skin whitening products last time since I’ve had my old Jergens lotion replaced. The result was getting this Gluta-C bottle which I found on a brochure and in a Savemore supermarket just over a month and a half ago.
I decided to give it a go and results will be shown below. So down here is what it looked like the first time I tried it out. You could check out my previous article if you’re curious about it:

Didn’t see any residue no? That’s pretty nice for a fairly priced lotion. Now let’s talk about the whitening part. I’m not really buying into any claims that any skin whitening product can actually whiten fast. There would be modest results but beyond that, I always set my expectations low.
So the result after a month and a half?
Not much in terms of whitening though it did give me a moisturizing effect, it looks whiter on the right but I think that’s due to the lighting, maybe a bit of fairness I guess. You be the judge. I can’t exactly tell because I see it daily. Though the feel is soft and smooth.
It’s showing nice results so I might use it again once it runs out. Though I was right to set my expectations low. Don’t get me wrong though, it wasn’t disappointing, it did its job fairly well but it’s nothing extraordinary. The good part here is that it didn’t cause me any irritations on the first try.
Rating:
Price- 3 (Fairly affordable)
Whitening– 3 (Neutral for now, might need more testing, SPF’s a bonus)
Moisturizing– 4 (Skin feels soft and smooth)
Feel– 4 (No residue, not so sticky at all and no irritations)
Fragrance– 4 (Smells subtly nice, not too much fragrance, mild)
Overall: 4 out of 5
For that price I could get another lotion without any whitening effect. If they’re telling me about intense whitening which got my attention in the first place; that means I should be able to have that effect quick. But that may be just my skin type or idk. The moisturizing effect and sun block is a bonus, it doesn’t feel sticky at all, and it’s easily absorbed by the skin. I like it, might buy another bottle once it runs out.
In other words; I’ll give it another shot since I can see some potential. Will update again if any remarkable effects is achieved.

Ah yes, now I remember where. It’s right here:
So yes, there were also brochures a while back but I didn’t pay attention that much since I was busy doing grocery and just went there to buy Strepsils since I got dry cough.
I thought it was just some advertisement so yes I disregarded it, and just stored it in my handbag since I hate littering. You gotta care for the environment too y’know, not just yourself!
So I just went home after completing my grocery list and daily life stuff happened.
Fast forward a week later and my Jergens body lotion was nearly empty, just found out since I apply lotion before I sleep every night since I like my skin soft. Tee hee.
So I thought that I’d buy another bottle tomorrow after work since it was gonna be payday anyway.

Well you’ve got to be kidding me, ATM’s offline so it’s unusable so I’m a hundred short for that day. But I went to Savemore supermarket anyways, just for snacks and some window shopping. Was looking for Jergens and I didn’t find any, well whew, that’s okay, no temptations or sadness because I can’t buy it.
It’s around 300 php anyway, and like I said I was short in cash. I was about to get out so I had to get some coins for my fare just to get ready and I got the flyer instead. Then it hit me: “Why haven’t I even thought of trying that lotion I saw in the ad since mine’s almost empty?” Soooo I went back. Mercury’s a bit farther away so I got lazy and just looked for Gluta-C products in the beauty aisle at Savemore.
And here’s what I saw:

These are only some of the items I saw but there are lots more and the price as you can see is the same with sampleroom.ph which is Php 164.75. We’ll just stick with lotions for now since that’s what I needed. If you need to find more you can check Gluta-C’s website here for more skin whitening products!
So what did I buy? It’s that one on the right.
Gluta-C Intense Whitening Original Body Lotion w/ SPF25
Yeah yeah, they’re both body lotion but this one’s cheaper and I’m broke. I just had to have it just with that reason.
Yada yada yada, so I went home and was excited to try it out!
So on the packaging, what it promises you are 3 things.
It provides:
Extreme whitening action (Where the Glutathione’s at)
Advanced skin nourishment (Vitamin C and Shea Butter)
Effective protection from the sun (Chalk it up to SPF to do its job regarding an endurance contest with the sun.)
So does it live up to the promise? Let’s find out!
What I first liked about this lotion is that it has SPF 25 so yes you could use it and brave the sunlight a little bit, but of course we won’t do that lest you want to look like a dried cactus at work and for a whitening lotion; sun protection is a bonus!
Directions for use:
First, make sure if it won’t have any negative reaction on your skin.
So how should you know if your skin doesn’t sit well with this product?
Simple! Just do a spot test. Apply a small amount on your wrist or the inside of the elbow and check for redness the next day. None of that? Then you can safely use it!
Use it day and night, that’s what I do to maximize the effects.
The Test!
Like most lotions, it has a creamy white appearance and a bit thick too. You can be sure that it’s a bit sticky on the skin and but it doesn’t leave a trail give it 5 minutes to settle and get absorbed and you’ll feel the moisturizing effect after, and it’s amazing.
See? No trails, and was absorbed immediately after a little while and has a matte finish to it. That’s good since I know it already is in effect. But what about the whitening effect? Sure I feel moisturized and soft. But it’s too early to make a judgement on the whitening part.
So far so good, one promise delivered and it’s the advanced skin nourishment I bet and others yet to be seen (I hate the sun so I haven’t had the chance to try out the sunscreen effect), and I’m actually liking it so far so I’ll continue using this for a week or two.
I won’t expect anything regarding the whitening effect but eh, who knows? It might work right?
Is it an effective skin whitening lotion? It shows some promise! So stay tuned for the results!

Sample Room: Introduction and First Review
I knew of Sample Room's existence since their launch last year, but I never thought of signing up because I wasn't interested back then. After seeing countless blog posts from fellow bloggers, I caved in.
I ordered my first samples last Sunday and they only arrived today. It's been almost a week, but I'll have to cut them some slack since the country's been visited by countless storms lately.
Anyway, I do think Sample Room offers such a convenient service. It's great how we get to try out full-sized products for free. Of course, there is a catch: you'll need to pay for the shipping fee as well as to review it. That's quite fair in my opinion.
Upon registration, you are given 100 points. You can spend it on the samples they have on their site. After reviewing the ones you ordered, you get back the same number of points you spent plus 1 extra.
For my first ever Sample Room order, I went for the Gluta-C Intense Whitening Toner and the Celeteque Brightening Radiance Body Cream.
Gluta-C Intense Whitening Toner
I'll be honest. I won't dare use this product on my face because I easily get breakouts. I decided to just use it on my neck. Here's what I think:
Scent
It's a bit strong for me. I'm used to the scent of toners, but I was wishing for this to be different. The scent is bearable, of course.
Effectiveness
Although its smell bothers me, I have to admit that it actually left my skin feeling fresh and clean. This is a really good thing because some toners I've used in the past fail in that aspect. You can really tell that the leftover gunk on your face after washing has been wiped off.
Celeteque Brightening Radiance Body Cream
Scent
It's a bit disappointing that this product turned out to have this generic lotion scent that I dislike. I prefer sweetly scented products, so this didn't impress me so much.
Texture
I am really happy with the texture of this product because it doesn't leave you with that unwanted sticky feeling that other lotions tend to plague you with. It left my skin smooth and moisturized.
Others
Both are whitening products. I can't say much about this because it's too soon to comment on it. I will get back on this after a couple of weeks.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
The Packaging ...
It comes in a simple tube that dispenses just enough product. I believe that since it is in gel form, it is better to have it in a tube than with a cap so it's not messy and no product is wasted.
The box has the information consumers need to know plus, it is properly sealed for the consumers' protection.
The Scent and Ingredients ...
It has a mild, kinda powdery scent that is barely noticeable. It fades by the end of the day.
As for the ingredients, I am happy that it has a mild scent. It doesn't have fragrance and Paraben which are harmful ingredients found in most products today.
The Performance ...
I use it alternately with my favorite, Dove Deo Spray, because I believe that I have to let the natural perspiration come out. Sweat is waste and toxins any ways so that's good that you let them come out naturally.
It can be used alone or under your deodorant.
I don't regularly have my underarms waxed, there are months where I just shave it and to my surprise, it does slow down hair growth.
Aside from slowing down the hair growth, I noticed that the hair is softer and the skin is also soft and smooth!
As for the whitening, my underarm is not that dark in the first place but I do believe that this is effective because it can prevent darkening.
It didn't gave me any breakouts or skin irritation.

WHAT I DON'T LIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCT
The Performance ...
It doesn't keep you from odor when your all sweaty. But on normal days naman, it can.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
RATING: 4/5 STARS
The product is good and I can say that it does what it claims and promises. If your that type of person who's always busy and doesn't have much time to go and have your underarms and bikini areas waxed, this product can definitely help you delay hair growth. But, it you are active this might not help you control sweat and odor, but you can wear this under your deos anyway!
