Prebiotics are not probiotics!
While the general public has long understood probiotics, prebiotics are less known. But there are significant differences between the two, including health benefits.
Probioticsare live bacteria in yogurt, other dairy products, and pills. Doctors often prescribe probiotics to patients on antibiotics in an attempt to combat…

Celiac Problems:
Sometimes you spend the whole day farting and mentally apologizing to people around you in your head.
Gluten Reaction
I'm writing this to confirm, that yes, achy-ness is still a gluten symptom. I saw a movie w/ DH last night, & got a drink, then had to get a straw from one of those dispensers you press with your fingers. You know, where other ppls grody fingers touch all the time, & I could see a film of what looked like the very least to be popcorn salt all over the plastic where the straw comes out. These things never get cleaned, clearly. I wasn't too confident, noticing all these things, & attempted to wipe the straw that came out with a napkin. DH offered his straw, but it was the big one for his drink, So I passed. It should be okay this time, right? Apparently not. Hours later, we got home, and I wondered, why do my legs/ back ache SO bad? I didn't do anything physically tiring. I go to bed. I wake up this morning feeling like I got run over. So tired, dragging all morning, back kills. Why does my back hurt so much? We spent today out and about, and then before coming home, My lower left colon quadrant starts to really rumble. Uh oh, that means a storm brewing it's way out. After we got home, sure enough, toilet time. Exactly 24 hours since the tainted straw, glutened time. So even though I don't get sudden onset symptoms like I did 4 years ago, there is a delayed reaction by several hours, and then toilet issues at the24 hour post contamination point. My gut is still rumbling, but I'm going to bed. Looks like Imodium for tomorrow.
Gluten Hazards
So I let lil man have gluten snacks in his lunches for school/ therapy, and so far I've had no issues (except maybe once ) getting sick. Well, the therapist has started bribing lil man with cookies before he leaves when I pick him up. Lil man likes to hold them rather than eat them right away. I get super paranoid and don't even want to hold his hand walking to the car (which isn't good), and then we get home and I have to wipe everything that he touched and wash my hands really good. Plus, I make him eat the cookie before even going in the house. Well yesterday after therapy, Lil man hurt himself on his hand, and I kissed his owie . I cringed for a moment before doing it because it was the back of his hand and he hadn't washed it since the gluten. But I wiped so it should be okay? I hope? Nope. I got a headache and rumbly guts and felt sick all the rest of the day. Now today 24hrs later , after more gut noise, sure enough, hello toilet. *Sigh* I'll have to wash his hands if lil man is going to be taking gluten home in the car. I did okay with second hand contact, But this first hand contact is just too hazardous. If I get sick again, I'll have to tell the therapist to not give out gluten when I pick up lil man. I always try to work around letting lil man have gluten, thinking I'm just being too cautious, but no, I really AM that sensitive.
When you can't trust anything:
WHY DO THE "FRUIT AND JUICE" SMOOTHIES HAVE GLUTEN IN THEM??
Old El Paso refried beans, NOT gf, per my colon
Even though the refried beans (traditional) don’t have any gluten containing ingredients, I’m guessing it’s a cross contamination issue.
Thank God I only had a large spoonful that I tried with taco night. I could hardly sleep last night because of gas & back pain, But I chalked it up to just standard Mexican food gas. However, today my gluten symptoms are present: Rumbly stomach, gassy, headache, toilet trips after every meal, And a general overall feeling of yuck w/ stomach pain & back pain.
Ugh 😣 This is why I regard all “new” foods with caution. ⚠️
*update* It may actually be a virus, because DH feels the same with headache & gut trouble. The extra body pain had me wondering, so I took some charcoal earlier. Figures we were finally cold virus free for over a week, now we got some other shit...
