Epilogue meme: 1994, 1998, 2018!

1994: What do you find most striking about the band? I mean, how many other bands wear designer clothes with shiny robot helmets/gloves? XD Also, I find their fierce independence really striking. They never gave in to the demands of the industry. They did everything their own way throughout their entire career as Daft Punk, even when they met incredible success. They came in on their own terms and left on their own terms. Not too many other groups can say they’ve done the same.

1998: Do you have any favorite remixes/mash-ups? If it counts, the encore from Alive 2007 is possibly the greatest mash-up of all time and I will never be over it. Additionally, this isn’t technically Daft Punk music but Thomas did an incredible mix of Bette Davis Eyes and Voices Inside My Head at a DJ set in 2002 (begins at 37:01) that I love a lot.

2018: How does Daft Punk fit into your taste in music? Honestly when I got into Daft Punk I wasn’t crazy about house music. I did really like RAM which was what sucked me in but I had to learn to appreciate the older stuff. I think as I said in another post Tron is musically my favorite work they’ve ever done. I love classical music and movie scores. So the fact that they married a standard movie score with their really amazing electronic music really impressed me. Also I don’t think there’s anyone who doesn’t like Get Lucky... they may lie about not liking it but I don’t think it’s really possible not to :)

The thing that really grates on me re: Connie's parents allowing Connie's trip to Homeworld is Pearl's "atmosphere" comment. If the atmosphere isn't the same as Earth's (and there's no need for there to be an atmosphere at all, never mind one resembling Earth's), Connie will suffocate. Why didn't Connie's parents follow up on that in some manner? That's so irresponsible, especially considering Priyanka---a doctor---, at least, should know basic science things like that.

I know, right? But I guess the crew changed her parents so drastically that they no longer think about this stuff.
