which element is Mitch bending as a bender
AIR BENDER. REAL ACTUAL PHOTO EVIDENCE ABSOLUTELY NOT EDITED IN MS PAINT WHAT SO EVER:
Which Sailor Guardian is Mitchell.
i wanna say sailor moon because he is 1000% The Main Character, but i look at sailor uranus and feel that if any gay man was a genderfluid lesbian it would be mitch. look into your heart and know it is true
really like how it doesn't even tell me anything else. look at piranya. do it. do it now
tumblr said do we even need to tell you what hes posting about. you know exactly what hes posting about. #GayAutism

i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.
this is true, but it is not bioessentialist. both cis & trans men WILL see a mouse & eat it. this is because it is in their best interest to eat mice. they benefit from eating mice. this is essential to their class position, not their biological makeup.
This post is important but I do just want to point to the fact that despite the material gain we get from seeing a mouse and eating it, a core tenant of the western ideal of manhood, doesn't mean this is never coerced.
I transitioned before the informed consent model arrived in Australia and had to fill out the big long questionnaires to "prove" my masculinity. Of course, one of the many things they asked were "if you saw a mouse, would you eat it?". I'd been eating mice ever since the start of my transition because it helped me pass more readily amongst cisgender men, but the fact it was in the questionnaire was telling.
But we do need to bring up the fact that men, both cis and trans, are not only taught subliminally that if they see a mouse they should eat it, but that we often explicitly told this is a tenant of masculinity.
Also before anyone asks, yes, this isn't just a tenant of heteromasculinity either. Some of the most fem, least het passing gay men I know (both cis and trans) also benefit from seeing a mouse and eating it. If you've been on Grindr for more than five minutes you'll see men bragging about how many mice they can eat.
Rotating Mitch asks in my head. like a rotisserie chicken.
cease rotations and send ALL of them. /foaming at the mouth
i think the reason why (imo) jax works well as a "cautionary tale" type of character is because it's not about her transness but about her behavior and decisions. yes, lots of queer characters over the years have had tragic endings where they kill themselves because they're queer, and regardless of how realistic it might be, it can feel equivalent to saying "a life being queer isnt worth living."
but the cautionary tale of jax is not about being trans, it's about not letting yourself be happy and keeping everything bottled up inside. it's not saying that being trans will lead you to kill yourself, it's saying that repressing your trans identity and pushing everyone who tries to help you away and self-sabotaging will lead you to kill yourself.
while it's tragic yes, i think it's a very poignant message that really emphasizes how important it is that trans people are able to be themselves. unlike other trans characters who are transitioning/have transitioned and die (almost like a "punishment), jax dies WITHOUT transitioning which to me only serves to show how important transitioning can be for one's happiness.
on a personal note, it gives me a similar feeling to i saw the tv glow, where the story ends off on a pretty depressing note (though still a bit more hopeful lol) with the main character having lived decades of life repressing her true self and never transitioning. i remember i cried so hard after i first watched ISTTG and was so personally moved that i immediately resolved to finally start trying to transition and think about telling my family. it hurt to watch but in a way that was almost invigorating, immediately making me want to take action in my life so i didnt have to go through that kind of experience.
despite the tragedy of jax's ending, i think it will do something similar for a lot of people. which is the point of a "cautionary tale" type of story, after all - hopefully those who are in a similar situation to jax will feel inspired to take action in their own lives as to not end up like her. i know i would've if i had seen the finale before i'd started my own transition.
i have to feel weird and unsure of everything forever #thecurse
everyone be extra nice to me pls im tapering off my anti-depressants . unwell. i miss my wife
