There was a new staff psychiatrist in-processing today and when he found out I was an interviewing MS4 he asked how my interview went, and I said that I thought it went well and my resident cut me off at that point to say that he had it on very good authority that my interview went extremely well and if I want to do my residency here the spot is mine, which is incredibly flattering to hear because I do like the program here a lot but now I really have no idea what to do with my rank list and there’s still 2 more months of this back and forth before my rank list is due and the pro con chart I made hasn’t really helped anything at all.

ugh, guys...I think i just might have drunk applied for residency

(or at least started to apply for residency, since we can apparently edit this thing for another 2+ months)

To date, I've asked 7 people to write me LORs and they said they would. (Granted several are irrelevant since I've decided I'm not going to be a surgeon or a family physician, but still) This morning, I learned that only 2 have actually made it to student affairs. And ones just the letter from the department at my school.

Literally every single notable characteristic I wrote up for my MSPE relates to the fire department, and I’m kind of waiting for student affairs to remind me that this is part of an application to train as a doctor, not get hired as a firefighter.
