today’s head pressing has me thinking. many thoughts. 

it’s absolutely undeniable. they’ve said they love each other--and yes, you should love your friends, you should love deeply and recklessly and selflessly, you choose family in this life by choosing people to love. but there are levels to love, or, perhaps, to say it better, layers, or branches. 

i think the common concept of love, that romantic or sexual love is the purest and most meaningful form of love you can express, is at best misguided or misplaced. there’s a love you reach where nothing else matters. it doesn’t fucking matter. 

you choose that person, and you choose them over success or material items or wealth. in sharing your successes and your griefs you double your joy and halve your sorrow and in their eyes you see the version of yourself that is the most of yourself. 

their heart is yours, and yours is theirs, and this kind of love is unstoppable and uncharacterizable and downright magical. you’re lucky to experience this kind of love. you’re lucky to even see it. and we get to catch glimpses of it every single mythical morning.
