Thoughts on EB 249:

- who wEARS SHORT SHORTS LINK WEARS SHORT SHORTS

- rhett’s choices make so much sense for him. I love hearing him talk about cosmology and paleontology and honestly take me to the Big Bang too bitch let’s goooooo

- I was scared about Link talking about the pyramids but ultimately very impressed and happy with his deconstruction, as a person who (obsessively) studies the ancient world

- the way they talk about biblical myth and the nature of belief, too, is fascinating—especially how Rhett discusses diversity of myth, which has been present in ALL sets of mythology. And the simultaneous meaningfulness and meaninglessness of detail. I’ve been avoiding the Lost Years eps because of some fear of who knows what, but I may have to go back to them. “hopeful atheist” I felt that

- I’m THRILLED by ancient music. There’s so much to discuss there

- it’s beautiful to hear them talk about music. Music is such a deeply and intrinsically human ordeal and they’re so connected with music as it relates to humanity and themselves. How magical.

- my three: big fucking bang. I’m with ya Rhett. The first performance of Euripides’ Medea. And I have got to know whatever the FUCK happened in the Dionysian Mysteries.
