Rating the GMMTV BL 2025 Trailers
A little late but I'm okay with that. Doing this after finally spotting @absolutebl's list and remembering I hadn't done it. Let's go!
Cat For Cash: ... Look, I'm a sucker for magic and for animals and, frankly, for First and Khaotung. Very much looking forward to this little adventure with the hopes that the more fluffy stuff GMMTV does will continue to make me happy.
Dare You To Death: Serious adults! Joong getting to smile in a role! I look forward to it all. Very glad not to see another university adventure for them and something that's both serious but also has some levity.
Boys in Love: PODPAPANG TEACHER ROMANCE. Also high schoolers in love. S'all good, right up my alley.
Memoir of Rati: It's historical, it's got AouBoom, it's got suits... it's a lot but I always fear for sad endings with historicals so... it's here but with a bit of apprehension.
Head 2 Head: Bad Buddy meets I Saw You In My Dream? Yeah, I can do that. I can handle that. Plus a second chance romance on the side? Oooo. That's truly rare.
Love You Teacher: I don't mind this kind of thing plus as someone who works in a school and has seen teachers who really should not be working with kids work with kids... I wanna see one where that teacher has to learn to do better. I'm down for it, I can handle anything and I love Perth and Santa in theory and individually.
That Summer: I dunno, it could be good and I really like the side couple from the looks of it but prince/commoner with amnesia and at least attempted hidden identity just always goes wrong for me. Lying is my least favorite trope, y'all.
Burnout Syndrome: Might be Jittirain... but is also OffGun and has Dew and Gun in black lipstick with a lipring? I can handle a lot for that fashion choice and this height differences, frankly. (I am lying, I can't, aesthetics never outweigh shows and characters for me but LET ME LIE TO MYSELF.)
Ticket To Heaven: Look, they're amazing actors, okay? But honestly the whole Christian religion is basically the wild west to me and I don't have any relationship or understanding of it so it just kind of.... exists. But they are good and it does look good so why not?
My Magic Prophecy: I don't have many thoughts on this one? Like, it just feels like it's... there. I'll watch it, I might even enjoy it, but it feels very much just like... a show that will exist.
A Dog and A Plane: Eh. Ehhhh. I like the idea in some ways but I found most of the trailer to be secondhand embarassment rich and I never like that. I do like the idea of the story, I really do, falling in love with someone and finding out he's being cheated on by the person he loves and also a second romance about the affair partner? I can handle it.
Me and Thee: I just don't tend to like GMMTV comedies, okay?
My Romance Scammer: Again, lying is my least favorite trope. I'll watch it. But I don't expect much from it.
Melody of Secrets: I don't like horror, I have only liked ForceBook in Peaceful Property and the trailer itself felt very empty. I am meh.
Only Friends: Dream On: Why? Just... Why? The only upside to this show is a hope that Neo makes out with more homies. Also to let branded pairs kiss other homies. But... yeah. Yeaaaah. I expect this to be rough and unfulfilling.
Keep in mind, this list has nothing to do with quality and everything to do with my very subjective taste.
