Is it just me or did someone else also find the whole "AU Lucas creeping in the corner and going all 'I felt like I needed to protect Riley from Maya' a bit weird? They barely knew each other (Lucas and Riley that is) and the whole line made me feel like, hey, maybe this is a shout out and Lucas is gonna let Riley and Maya be from now on :D No?

I'm not gonna hold my breath on that last bit, but yeah, Lucas’ behavior in the au did seem a bit weird and out of place to me. Like, she’s not your daughter. She’s not even your girlfriend or your friend. It’s not your place to chaperone her social interactions.

The tweet is because the next episode is a "what if" they all never met when they were younger. What if there was no rilaya, or rucas, or lucaya? Only avoy. There will be rilaya scenes because we will see what would have happened if Riley hadn't met Maya when she was six. Rilaya is most important. It was mentioned first and its removal causes catastrophic events for the characters as people. People did not change people.

Wow, I gotta get to my asks more often. I knew the premise “what if the window was locked” before the episode, but obviously we all know what the episode was about now. People were just posting that the writers said “no Rilaya” and not giving any other context one day and my heart dropped into my stomach for a minute until I found the tweet.

Still crazy to think that Rilaya is what holds the universe together.
