I’m likely being presumptuous, or perhaps you mentioned it before, but you strike me as some one who enjoys a game of chess? If so, would you share the story of how you learned to play?

I actually do enjoy Chess. One of the best gifts I ever received was from a friend who hand carved a board and set for me. I haven’t played in a long time, as a friend introduced me to Go in graduate school and I fell in love with the game.
In terms of how I learned Chess, it was my uncle and one of my friends. By “learned” I mean getting my ass beat repeatedly. I wasn’t that good, even when I was playing regularly. ADHD and chess is a weird cocktail. Haha
