GO GALLERY!
The Canadian artist Kevin Ledo, best known for creating large scale murals like the 90 story wall in Montreal that he painted depicting Leonard Cohen and his Facing the Future mural in Lebanon, will launch a new show titled “The Impeccable Brunch” on May 12th at the GO Gallery in Amsterdam.
Ledo, who’s recognized for having a down-to-earth mentality has also invited fourteen additional artists from North America and Europe to assist in curating the exhibition. The roster includes artists that have either collaborated with Ledo previously, or that he’s interested in working with including; Mr. June, Paola Delfin, Marina Capdevila, Jason Botkin, Jonathan Bergeron, Labrona, Jon Todd, Dourone, A Squid called Sebastian, Serge KB, Laurence Vallieres, Celeste Byers, Ard Doko and Melanie Garcia,
Along with his distinctive murals, his canvases also possess a striking individuality, and color scheme that breathes a touch of retro. He often emphasizes in his work on the lifelike human form, which is often interwoven with geometrically abstract light spheres, halos and vector lines, reflecting moments of intimacy, joy and wonder.
“The Impeccable Bunch” is guaranteed to be a wonderful exhibition that includes many exceptional artists working together to create unique and collectible pieces ranging from € 450 to € 4500. Collectors and fans of the artists can also find more affordable works, with a number of limited giclee prints that will also be available starting at € 75.

I am so proud, hearing these women stand up for their fellow women and their collective rights. This is what we need, all the time. We need to stick up for each other and our rights.
Irish artist Matthew Knight is one of the people I’ve been in contact with for quite a while through CFYE. So when I heard Matthew had a solo exhibition in the Go Gallery, Amsterdam I decided to finally get out of my sweatpants and drag myself towards the Gallery on a rainy Saturday evening, to meet the kind man and have an up-close and personal look at his art. I am absolutely glad I did as it was great to meet Matthew,…http://cfye.com/matthew-knight-closet-eccentric-7009

Amsterdam Part IV
Erected from just around the corner from GO Gallery, the photo above is a mural done by the street artists The London Police. Created in the city centre of Amsterdam, the Jordaan District, this mural is just one of the many stories of how the community raised their voices to the city council (Gemeente) in order to demand the preservation of art in public spaces. The space given by a man who lives in the building was apparently tired of the consistent dreary and not so beautiful taggings done on his property, he requested The London Police to adorn a mural and transform the once dreary wall into something more vibrant. Once the city council arrived to the half painted wall, TLP was informed about the required permission they needed in order to paint any façade in the city centre. Most of the individuals of the neighborhood, informed by the Go Gallery attendant Farud, created a petition in order to show the demand and support of art immersed in public spaces. Eventually they succeeded in the case! After all who wouldn’t want this lively mural on the side of their home?
