Episode 6 Good Omens Liveblog
Alright here we go. I’ll see you on the other side.
-That fat little dragon is so adorable. I want one.
-Aw, Bentley, you died too young.
-“For heaven’s sake— Ugh I can’t believe I just said that”
-Newt’s general incompetence reversed nuclear warfare and that’s why we love him
-Did Anathema just call Brian and Wensly “You two”?
-I’m dying at this. “God does not play games with the universe” “Where have you been?” A+ execution, comedy gold
-Aziraphale and Crowley give surprisingly sound advice. I’d trust them.
-“You don’t have a side anymore.” Damn, I’m feeling more emotions than I signed up for today.
-HOLY SHIT ADAM HAS THE SAME NAME SIGN ON HIS DOOR I DID GROWING UP. Another fact is we have almost the same name. None of this is relevant at all, it’s just important to me.
-I love the resolution because nobody knows at all what happened, least of all the people who stopped the apocalypse
-Wow, Heaven got kind of...badass
-I love how they’ve rejected both sides! This is a really nice addition. Narratively satisfying.
-I feel you Adam, Summer really is coming to an end
-They’re right... a Nightengale DID Sing in Berkeley Square
That ending.. wow I’m still processing that. It was so sincere and beautiful. Truly. My heart is happy.
Final thoughts: I like the series. Like any good adaptation, it was done for the right reasons. I could feel Terry Pratchett’s influence everywhere and it really felt like everything I’d imagined for so long was brought to life. In other words, I don’t feel like this series is trying to take the place of the book. Rather, it’s like a 6 hour tribute. As someone who has been very much impacted by the book for years, it gave me that same sense of comfort and joy I get from opening my copy and reading a page at random. I’m glad this was made, and even more I’m glad it was made with such love. Any other adaptation wouldn’t have been good enough. Thank you.
