You know exactly what I mean, right?
All too often we have a great idea; a new invention; a web concept; a ground breaking enterprise; a book that needs to be written; a design that needs to be seen, and we talk about it, more than we actually ‘be’ about it.
We go about our day 'talking’ and dreaming about it, sharing the idea with others, in a naive belief that this somehow seals the idea as our own, only to never see it through.
Then the flame lessens, life gets in the way, doubts and/or fears build, and BANG!! Someone else has had the same idea, or taken yours, and your dream is built and benefited from by others. Right before your eyes, your 'baby’ has been created by another parent.
You see, this is all too familiar for me. I used to be a 'talker’, freely giving away my ideas; I would create websites only to see others pulling off content and posing it as their own, or even more frustrating, forwarding my ideas in the form of projects, concepts, and publications, and receiving praise for what was initially my vision.
My Immature-Self, or yet-to-begin-(truly)actualizing-Self, would grow angry, frustrated, wiry, and depleted, feeling betrayed. I did not understand that like-attracts-like, and the power of our visions. So I gave up on the idea, slumped in a hump of disappointment for a while, and then moved on to the next big idea… again, not seeing it through.
There is a saying a friend once told me about the Graveyard being the richest place in the world - rich with unwritten books, unseen inventions, and unformulated ideas… dying with their inventor.
So I am here to tell you… stop sitting and talking about your idea and go out and make it happen. So what if they have the same idea, or have taken yours - they can never do it the way you do! That is your power!
Just remember - our thoughts have energy, and that energy attracts like-minded people to us; with that brings people with similar ideas, ways of being, and concepts. Some take your ideas intentionally, some absorb it subconsciously, others have the business savvy to hire you to create it for them. So get your Non-Disclosures signed, and go make it happen, today!
