If I had made Gobblepot canon in season 2, I would've made it SO dramatic 😝🥰

Before they ever make a move, Jim has a situationship with Theo Galavan (it's very clear they're dating, but Jim is too flustered to put a name on it 🥲)

Hear me out! 😂 Jim thinks he's with a good guy and that maybe they'll make this city better together (a guy can dream).

"Why would he even be into Theo?" you might ask. Well, look at Jim's love-interests: 1 blonde woman, three black-haired woman, and if you count Oswald, well: alltogether he likes straight black hair.

Why Theo would want that? He already tries to get Jim's trust in canon, and let's be honest: 🚨 attention whore🚨 😌 Seriously, though: if he can get Jim to trust him, he'll get his support in a) becoming mayor and b) dethroning Oswald.

Oh and remember when Theo wanted Barbara to tell him everything she knows about Jim? 😉

This way, Jim also gets to have his (presumably) first gay relationship without the added stress of enemies to lovers. He doesn't associate the attraction with a pull towards the crime world, but rather with the hope that there are still good people left. For a smidge of their chemistry, see the short edit I did on Youtube or on Tiktok 👀

Obviously he doesn't know that Jim and the Penguin have history...but he finds out they're a great duo. (Spoilers for season 2 episode 11!) Now does Jim let Oswald kill Theo? He probably dislikes the idea, but acknowledges that they can do little else against a billionaire.

Then (spoilers for season 2 episode 12)

Oswald admits he murdered Theo (well, Jim knew that) and has to go to prison, where he is tortured, which Jim believes in this version. This leads to him to investigate Arkham more thouroughly.

(Spoilers for season 2 episode 15) Oswald is let free and goes to him first-thing, but surprise, Jim doesn't wanna live with him yet, and turns out his father lives and welcomes him into the home. He even visits Jim a few times and is the happiest he's ever been. Now since Ed finds out Oswald likes Jim, he also finds out that Jim's not about to discover his murder ->he doesn't frame Jim.

Finally, with nothing in the way, with Oswald "cured" (Jim is doubtful 😅) they date and plan the demise of Arkham's horrifying projects.

(Spoilers for episode 17) Oswald still kills his step-family in a blind rage, and hides the evidence, but Jim gets suspicious.

(Spoilers for episode 18) Then Barbara's back and visits Jim, who's been so close to Oswald in his apartment he doesn't realize his scent is in the air by now. Oswald hides, but Barbara realizes someone was there. She catches them another time and forms a plan to make Jim "find out" what Ozzie did.

Once Jim knows, he's conflicted: Oswald killed his ex as revenge for his mother, yet now kills his remaining family?? He could've asked him for help! To get them imprisoned. He must be back to his old ways.

Jim confronts him, and when Oswald only bats his watery eyes and stammers excuses, he breaks up with him.

(Spoilers for episode 19) Then Theo comes back from the dead to try to kill him. Oswald saves Jim, of course, but now Jim feels like romance can only lead to heartbreak and murder attempts.

Maybe it's not just them, it's him too. It's this whole city. You see, I think if they get together finally, it should be season 4. But there's potential for season 2.

One of the Best Gobblepot Concepts: What If Jim Gordon Hallucinated Oswald Cobblepot in Gotham Season 3? 🎩💋

I asked myself this after making Gotham Bingo Round 1 Part 2: "Hallucination" (by @gothambingo )

Sadly Jim already has a tendency to consume drugs (more specifically whiskey) and to not fully let go of past relationships. 🥲

I'm not saying that he would absolutely use hallucinogens to see Oswald but like if he did, let's say because some villain let him hallucinate as a distraction, what do you think would Oswald be like? 😁

I can imagine that he'd be in character but a mix of early him looking all flustered around Jim, and present him, who criticizes him and makes snarky remarks 😂
