Not a fairy tale, nor a diploma
Since childhood you have dreams of this day. You picture yourself glowing. You imagine this day as the crowning day, a princess who finally found her prince charming. Everything sparkles in your mind. You think of the flowers and the carriage that will take you to the venue, you coming out with your glass slipper shoes. Looking to impress your friends, you do it big because your friends did it. This is not a competition, my sister: it is God's plan for your life. It is He who pulls Eve from Adam's rib so that His glory be manifested. He did not do it for you to show off. It is a mission which He entrusted you with "multiply, be fruitful, fill the earth and subdue it" Genesis 1:28. But you think that this is the day for the whole town to celebrate the princess and you forget the true reason for this union. The Lord has provided for you to marry, He expected you to be happy with the person that He has planned for you. So ask Him to prepare you for that day. Ask Him to guide you, to break every spirit that pushes you out of His will. We don't get married for the party. In this case, just buy a beautiful dress, make yourself pretty, invite your friends and have fun but don't get married if your goal is just the parade and the glitter...
Now that you got married you thought that you would live your "happily ever after" But the reality is completely different. You did not expect all this stress, the loneliness and sadness you sometimes feel when your husband does not pamper you the way you wanted. You never thought you will have so much trouble getting pregnant, or become your in-laws enemy. You never knew you will be weary. Just like the new graduate never contemplated not finding a job. Here you are feeling like you have been trapped.Your only wish is to get out of this marriage that stole your dreams. But let me remind you that His word declares: "what God has joined together, let no man separate." Our Lord, omniscient, already knew that people will try to separate what He has united. And you say you are a believer and you pray but don't you also believe His word that says that "together they shall become one flesh"? Can you cut a part of your flesh without being hurt, without being affected? Why would you inflict yourself so much pain when He can help. His command is that together you subdue the earth. It means that together you have the power to destroy all the power of the enemy, overcome any spirit of poverty, spirit of failure, barren spirit; everything that hold you captive and keep you out of His will. Today is the day that God chose to restore you, to undo the harm that hath been done. But it is also the day He reminds you that "he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty" Psalm 91:1. Keep the faith and stay in your destiny.
