The sacrifice part 1
You woke hours later under warm, heavy fur blankets. You can hear bickering in the living room, the voices straining to be hushed. You were hesitant to pull yourself out of this warm sanctuary. If someone came to check on you, you could simply pretend to be asleep. The plan seems fool-proof until you see something shifting in the corner of the room.
"Ah, you're awake now." You sit up immediately, pulling the blankets up with you. "Don't worry. Please, don't worry. Your stress will make you sick." The man slowly pulls himself from the shadows, almost as large as König. He was almost like a mass of shadows, something you had to focus your full attention on to see.
"Who are you?" You whisper as he materializes a little more before sitting on the bed. He looks the most human out of the rest when he lets the shadows gall away.
"I'm Krueger. I helped make the town centuries ago, and in exchange, the others and I require companionship." He reaches out a hand, what almost looks like a hand to gently stroke your face.
You shudder at his touch, pulling back a little when something slithers down your neck. He sighs softly as he moves his hand away and stands off your bed. Turning to the fire he has been maintaining in your room, he throws in a fresh log before he guides out of the room. You stay seated for a few moments before you slowly leave the warm safety of the bed.
You press your ear to the door, straining to hear the hushed whispers that go even quieter when Krueger leaves your room. When you try to turn the knob, it doesn't budge, leaving you locked in your bed chambers until someone decides to let you out.
Horangi comes to your door a few moments later, the heavy lock turning over before he pushes the door open. He smiles quietly at you as he slips into the bedroom, making himself smaller by sitting on the floor. "I'm sorry I startled you so badly, princess."
"I'm not a princess." You huff angrily, crossing your arms tight.
"One could think so, with that beautiful dress." He purrs softly as he reaches out to stroke the fabric of your skirt. You immediately jump back a little, gathering the fabric in your hands and pulling it away from him.
"You'll tear it!" You scolds, eyeing his sharp clawed hands. Horangi smiles a little with his pointy teeth, being very gentle when he strokes the fabric of your skirt. "What do you want?" You huff as you look from his hand to his face. You wanted to ask him what the argument was about, but you knew he wouldn't answer you.
"I just wanted to apologize." Horangi insists softly as he inches himself closer to you. "Can you forgive me, princess? I didn't mean to startle you, I swear." His voice was soft and sincere as he slowly wraps his arms around your legs. He rests his chin on your belly, eyes shining apologetically.
"I suppose I can. Only if you tell me why you were arguing with the others." You whisper, leaning into his face as if he would tell you the grand secret. He chuckles quietly, squeezing your thighs once before letting you go.
"Then I suppose I won't be forgiven just yet, princess."
