The Galerian Weave
"Together as one." - Gale
An idea that stayed in my head...
Resist!Durge becoming the god/goddess of redemption
I find it so fitting for a Durge narrative, since they are a product of the divine themselves.
From what I got from posts (Because I havent even finished Act One of my first playthough but I can't stop watching spoilers), Gale god ending isnt really his best.
But the idea of a Durge becoming a god as a way to free themselves completly from their Father ?
That's an idea I love, and there is always angsty possibilities

To those who are reluctant to read my God!Gale fic series (because of God!Gale):
Let me introduce you to Greater God!Gale (enduring God!Gale was worth it for this version of Gale)
Please read the excerpt below from late in the postgame fic. Oh and the BG3 novelisation will provide why Gale chose to become a god (Durge never wanted this).
Excerpt: ---
It was during a brief lull between petitioners that a child appeared in the crowd.
She was small—perhaps seven or eight years old—with dark curls and wide, frightened eyes that darted around the throne room as if seeking something, anything familiar. Her form flickered with the soft, uncertain light of a soul that had not yet accepted its new reality.
She was also, Vesper realized with a pang, utterly terrified of Gale.
Every time her gaze landed on the Throne of Zeal, she flinched. Her small hands clutched at her simple dress. She looked like a rabbit in a den of wolves.
Vesper's heart broke.
"Gale," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "She's terrified."
Gale followed his gaze. His expression softened—just slightly, just enough for Vesper to see. "Children often are. I am... imposing. Even when I don't mean to be."
"Let me—"
"Together." Gale squeezed his hand and Vesper nodded eagerly. "We'll do this together."
The Once-Wizard rose from his throne, and the Eclipse rose with him. They descended the dais steps together, hand in hand, and approached the crowd and the child slowly, carefully.
The crowd stilled with awe and parted. The child shrank back, her eyes wide.
Gale stopped at a respectful distance and knelt—actually knelt on his knees—bringing himself and Vesper to her eye level. His voice, when he spoke, was soft. Gentle. Paternal.
"Hello, little one! I'm Gale Dekarios. What's your name?"
The child stared at him. "You're... you're my god. The big handsome one with the silver beard."
"I am," Gale agreed. "But right now, I'm just someone who wants to help. May I know your name?"
She hesitated. Then, barely audible: "L-Lily, my lord."
"Lily." Gale smiled, and it was not the smile of a god-king. It was the smile of a man who had once been mortal, who had once been afraid, who had once been small. "That's a beautiful name. Like the flower."
Lily's eyes flickered to Vesper, who was still holding Gale's hand. "W-Who are you? You have very pretty flowers in your hair."
"Aww, thank you. I'm Moonshadow." He smiled, warm and open as he ran his free hand over his flower-laden braid. "I'm Gale's... well, I'm his everything, but don’t tell everyone! But you can call me Vesper. I’m his Consort."
“Consort? Like a queen or...prince?” Lily's brow furrowed. "You're not scared of him? He’s scary like the teachers at the temple."
"Scared?" Vesper glanced at Gale, then back at Lily. “Oh no. I'm not scared. I love him. And he loves me. And that means I never have to be scared of him."
Lily considered this. "He's very shiny and scary. Like a big silver lion."
"He is, "Vesper agreed. "But he's also very gentle. Look." He leaned over and pressed a chaste kiss to Gale's cheek. Gale's ears turned pink, and he shot Vesper a look of mock indignation that made Lily giggle.
"He turned pink! Just like daddy used to!" she exclaimed.
"He does that," Vesper confirmed "Especially when I'm being a menace. It's one of his best qualities."
Gale sighed, but he was smiling. "You're never going to let me live that down, are you?"
"Never." Vesper's grin was unrepentant. Then he turned back to Lily, his expression softening. "Lily, can you tell us how you came to be here? What brought you to my beloved’s realm?"
Lily's face crumpled. "I... I got sick. Really sick. Mama tried to help me, but the fever was too strong and I got so tired and then everything went dark and one of the handsome wizards took me from the grey place and now I'm here and I don't know where Mama is and—"
She broke down, sobbing.
Vesper moved without thinking and gathered her into his arms. She was small and light and terrified, and he held her the way he wished someone had held him, when he was small and terrified and alone.
"I know," he murmured. "I know it's scary. I know you miss your Mama. That's okay. This is all very new and scary. It’s okay, you’re not alone."
Lily cried against his chest, her small hands clutching at his coat. Vesper held her, rocking slightly, murmuring soft reassurances.
Behind him, he was aware of Gale watching, of the petitioners watching, of the entire throne room holding its collective breath. But his focus was entirely on the child in his arms.
"I never had a Mama or Papa," Vesper said quietly. "Not really. I grew up in an orphanage, not knowing where I came from or who I belonged to. And it was hard. Really hard. There were days when I felt like I would never find my place in the world."
Lily's crying slowed. "But... but you found one? A place?"
"I did." Vesper smiled, soft and sad. "It took a long time, and it wasn't easy, and I had help from people who loved me. They gave me hope even on my darkest days when I felt so alone and afraid." He glanced at Gale. "I found my place. And I think you will too."
"How?"
"Because you're here, little dreamer. You dreamed big and you probably wished so hard for whatever you wanted," Vesper's voice was gentle. "so hard that Gale heard you and you ended up here, in a place full of people who understand what it's like to have big dreams and to fight for them. People who will help you find yours again, even if it's different now. And because—"He looked at Gale. "—because you're not alone. You have us. You have all of us. Gale especially."
Lily looked up at him, then at Gale. "Y-You’ll help me, Lord Gale?"
Gale, still kneeling a few paces away, offered a gentle smile. "Of course. I may be imposing, Lily, but I am also—"He paused, searching for the right word."—yours. Yours and Vesper's and every soul in this realm. That is what it means to be a god. To belong to your people. To serve them."
Lily considered this. Then, slowly, she reached out a small hand towards Gale.
He moved closer and took it gently, his massive hand enveloping hers with infinite care. "There now," he said softly. "Now we're friends. Friends aren't scary, are they?"
Lily shook her head. "Friends aren't scary."
"Good." Gale's smile widened. "Now. I think you need rest given you’ve only just arrived here, but first, someone to show you around, perhaps a ride with one of my tressyms if you're feeling brave. What do you think, little madam?"
Lily's eyes went wide. "Tressym? Ohhh! The flying cats in the stained glass at the temple!?"
As if on cue, Cloudburst materialized at Gale's side, his large storm-grey form radiating gentle warmth. "I am a tressym, little one. But yes, I look like a cat and can fly and talk. Would you like to see the gardens first? We have flowers that sing and if you’re hungry, there’s chefs in the kitchens who can make any meal just as your Mama used to make them."
Lily looked at Cloudburst, then at Vesper, then at Gale, whom smiled at her and nodded. Slowly, she nodded as well.
Cloudburst extended a massive cloud-laden wing, and Lily, after a moment's hesitation, climbed onto his back. The tressym rose carefully, his movements gentle, and began to glide towards the garden doors.
At the threshold, Lily turned back. "Thank you," she whispered. "Thank you for not being scary."
Gale's smile was soft. "You're welcome, little one. Be brave. Be curious. That's all any of us can ask for. Welcome home to Axiom’s Reach."
She disappeared through the doors, Cloudburst a protective shadow ferrying her.

A few of the many Gales you will meet in my fic series:
God!Gale
(He will irritate you and wow you in the same breath)
Eepy!Gale
(So cuddly and warm!)
Angry!Gale
(He scowls so handsomely!)
Professor!Gale
(Doesn't need Blackstaff Academy accreditation to teach you, let him yap!)
Dead!Gale
(Because he's planned in case of death...)
Bladesinger!Gale
("Swords, meet Sorcery!")
Broken!Gale
(He broke you. And in doing so, he broke himself. It's rock bottom (and he's assuming leadership from here on out to do right by you) but... the only way now is up.)
Greater God!Gale
(2 years of estrangement has taught him to guard his Humanity fiercely. He's learned from old enemies to weaponize his intellect to levels even Mystra cannot compete with)
Greater God!Gale, pt. 2
(He will bend all the cosmic rules for you and break them, if needed. He will spin cosmic legalese that would make archdevils hesitate. He will play both villain and hero. Anything to keep you, your old friends, Lady Morena and Tara safe.)
Mortal!Gale
(He's just beneath the surface if you look hard enough. Godhood changed him at first, but he realized that his Humanity was what set him apart from the other gods and he reclaimed it. He wears many masks to protect those he loves but he'll always be just Gale Dekarios, even if others cannot see beyond his godly glamer.)

So, this draft scene is after a lovely tea party with Sune, Sharess, Tymora and Milil; hosted by Gale and Moonshadow (Vesper) in Gale's divine realm of Axiom's Reach in the gardens. Things have been heating up the entire tea party, which was mainly for catching up with friends (Moonshadow and Sune are best friends), but quickly turned into Moonshadow shyly struggling to get through it (he's in heat lol) knowing full well what comes after it, with Sharess taking note of the barely contained desire between the divine couple. Oh, Sharess is absolutely thrilled. ---
CW: Prelude to Divine Lovemaking, Foreplay
---
The great doors boomed shut, the sound echoing in the vast chamber like a heartbeat. Vesper stood at the base of the dais, watching his Once-Wizard ascend the seven steps with a deliberate, predatory grace that made his breath catch.
His husband had changed during the garden party—not physically, but in some subtle way that Vesper couldn't quite name. The warm, gentle god who had comforted a frightened child, who had walked through gardens with him hand in hand, who had blushed at Sharess' teasing—that Gale was still present. But beneath him, coiled and waiting, was something else. Something hungry.
Gale reached the top of the dais and turned, settling onto his Throne of Zeal with ease. His shirt was still open from earlier, revealing the silver skin of his hairy chest that accentuated every muscle and the faint pulse of the Orb scar. His silver eyes, when they found Vesper, were dark with promise.
"Well, my heart?" His voice was low, husky, the tone that made Vesper's knees weak. "You spent the entire afternoon burning for me. I felt it through our bond—every stolen glance, every heated thought, every moment you imagined what we would do once we were finally alone." He leaned back, one hand resting on the arm of the throne, the other patting his thigh in invitation. "Come here. Show me what you imagined."
Vesper didn't need to be told twice.
He climbed the steps, his eyes never leaving Gale's. Each step brought him closer to that heat, that hunger, that need that mirrored his own. By the time he reached the top, he was trembling—not with fear, but with the sheer force of want.
Gale's hand caught his wrist, pulling him close. Vesper went willingly, settling onto his lap, straddling those powerful thighs. The position was intimate, vulnerable, perfect. He could feel the heat of Gale's body through their clothes, could see the pulse jumping in his throat, could smell the familiar scent of ozone and parchment and him.
"There you are," Gale murmured, his hands settling on Vesper's hips. His thumbs traced slow circles, sending shivers up Vesper's spine. "There's my bold consort, who spent all afternoon making polite conversation while thinking about riding me on my throne."
Vesper's cheeks flushed. "You felt that desire?"
"Oh, this daft fool. I just told you. Or have you forgotten that our very souls are wed? I feel everything you feel." Gale's voice was warm with satisfaction. "Every spike of desire. Every flash of fantasy. Every moment you imagined my hands on you, my mouth on you, my—" He leaned closer, his lips brushing Vesper's ear. "—cock inside you."
Vesper whimpered. He couldn't help it. The words, the tone, the sheer possessive heat in Gale's voice—it undid him completely.
"Gale—"
"I know." Gale's hands slid up his sides, pushing his coat off his shoulders. The garment fell to the floor with a soft thump. "I know what you need. I've always known." His fingers found the fastenings of Vesper's shirt, working them open with practiced efficiency. "You need to feel claimed. Owned. Taken. You need to remember that you're mine, and I'm yours, and nothing—nothing in all the cosmos—will ever change that."
Vesper's shirt joined his coat on the floor. Gale's hands roamed his bare chest, fingers finding nipples that hardened at the touch. Vesper arched into the contact, a moan escaping him.
"Yes," he breathed. "Yes, please—"
"Please what?" Gale's thumbs circled, pressed, made Vesper's vision blur. "Tell me what you want, my heart. Use your words. I want to hear you say it."
Vesper's breath came in short gasps. "I want—I want to ride you. Here. On your throne. I want to feel you inside me while you watch me take what's mine."
Gale's eyes flared. "Yours?"
"Mine." Vesper's hands found Gale's chest, fingers tracing the Orb scar. "You are mine."
Gale's smile was radiant.
"Yes." He captured Vesper's lips in a kiss that was hungry, desperate, full of years of longing. When they broke apart, both breathing hard, he reached for the fastenings of his own trousers. "Then take what's yours, my heart. Claim me on the seat of my realm."

Headcanon: Greater God!Gale no longer wears the cape of his god outfit because he's no longer insecure of his authority and physique. Move over Lathander/Amaunator! Gale is currently one of, if not, the most desired being in the cosmos. Just ask Sune and Sharess! The Galerian Weave is no longer in its infancy as it rivals the Mystran Weave, and his Orb sigil is his religion's brand proudly on display, not just on his chest but also across all realmspace. Gale is the perfect representation of a gentleman at his peak. Utterly handsome (he still has his wrinkles, he could have removed them but didn't), strapping (silver skin that accentuates every curve and muscle, and his body hair is still intact post ascension) but not a brute (he is ever the gentleman, even to his foes) and utterly intelligent (and now wise too). The cape and its peacock / flower finery were just extras. But more likely than all that, is that two years of estrangement has finally ended. Moonshadow (God!Durge) has returned to him after walking the Material Plane to find himself and Gale is more than ever willing to bare his breast and his heart to his beloved Eclipse, literally.
