And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV

God wants us to do our best in all that we do. He wants us to have more than enough to do good works and to be able to do them consistently. He blesses us so that we will have what we need to be a blessing to others.

God's grace abounds even as his supply is abundant. He gives us all we need to extend his abundance to all he places in our path. He will never send us out unequipped to do what he wants us to do.

Whatever God has for you to do, know that he will provide the resources to do it!

Fan the Flame

Settling into our family cabin, I determined to start a big crackling fire in the fireplace. After wadding up several sheets of newspaper, I positioned the logs in tepee style to create a nice little vent for the oxygen to fuel the flame. Completely satisfied, and patting myself on the back, my dancing fire lasted for maybe five minutes before fizzling out.

Empower Me

It has only been five days but I feel like it has already been going on for a long time. I feel so drained and somehow, unsure. I feel scared.The truth is that I am afraid of a lot of things. But there's that part of me, hidden deep inside, that always believes and hopes for the best. I know that things can always get harder, but I have confidence that they can also get better. It is just a matter of perspective and attitude. 

Just yesterday on my way home, I saw a physically-challenged man who was struggling his way to walk forward. I didn't know him personally but just by looking at him, I could see that he was trying his best to fight and live through it all. How hard it must have been for him. And there I was, feeling hopelessly tired and worried of how much responsibility and work I still had to do. How could I complain and feel impatient when there are people out there who keep on fighting in spite of their limitations and suffering beyond compare.

Thank you Lord for reminding me of how blessed I am and for making me realize how much the presence of a nurse is needed in this ailing world. Help me to use my strength and the skills you have given me to help other people in much greater need. I am still afraid and unsure of a lot of things but I find comfort in knowing that when You call, You equip. Empower me Lord.
