my thoughts on how chuck became god
(this nights be old news for you but i still wanna post it)
chuck was a prophet and a writer. the guy we meet in s4 and 5. just a guy.
god, as of kripke era, was absent, but was never said to be walking the earth.
in ep 5x22 there is an end and a new start. chuck has a somewhat important role in it, as well as protagonizes a plot twist that indicates he is god.
considering the god/chuck we follow on dabb era, i wouldn't say it's strange to believe that a) chuck was a regular prophet 2) god planned on sam and dean's story ending in 5x22, but changed his mind, extending the story and finding a way to self insert and 3) what better way to self insert than to become the writer (taking over chuck's life)
