honestly the apocalypse world plotline was failed when it came to jack bc they canonized so much random shit just for that arc only to never have it matter or be totally acknowledged later. au-Zachariah psychologically torturing jack w illusions of various horrible deaths to make him open a rift and save himself or his loved ones? doesn’t matter past the episode it happens in. the end of s13 and rest of s14 are just jack being vaguely jaded and vaguely despondent and it never goes anywhere. him having survivors guilt after losing so many of the people he claimed responsibility for and vowed to protect only really matters for the dream talk with dean and his cabin fever from not being as strong as he used to be.
and his own vendetta against michael is barely taken seriously by both the writers and the fandom bc there’s never any real room for it bc we HAD to have michael-dean (which was also failed). he tells cas yes, he is actually willing to kill dean if it means preventing another apocalypse world from being created, and the fact that he was tortured by the guy and waged a war against him pretty much singlehandedly should’ve carried more weight than it does. cas frankly should’ve understood it more than he did but instead it’s turned into “nuuuu don’t hurt my husbando •^•” and jack is like. being a disobedient toddler or some shit.
Jack was Thee Resistance Leader in apocalypse world but nobody’s including him on any of the fights or looking to him for any kind of guidance? like yeah, he’s got a lot going on but he very obviously wants to be included and literally thrived in that role and environment. or when michael kidnaps him in the penthouse and has that whole monologue abt jack outgrowing his humanity and loyalty to humans? the fact that jack doesn’t want to admit it could be possible? that barely mattered even after Mary’s death when it should’ve come back tenfold!!!!!!!
