THE NEVERMIND REFERENCE IN MOONLIGHT
(Burmese anon) I'm so glad you still have that connection to your Burmese family/culture! Mohinga is my favourite
hiii anon!!! chsbcis thank you!! its a shame bc ... i picked up learning burmese, ages ago, and then i never got round to completing it so ive forgotten everything id learnt about the language. but yeah, ive been burma once, and it was amazing!! we went rangoon and mandalay.
fhdhfid my mum's mohinga still needs perfecting, but my mum's sister and sister in law (who was born and raised in burma) makes amazing mohinga so when we go pakistan i beg them to make it!! but when i'm at home in the uk, i beg my mum's best friend bc she knows how to make it really well, so whenever she makes it, she sends some over. but my mum's khao suay is .... yeah, its amazing!!!! those are my top 2 fave dishes, along with lahpet OMGNFJD i LOOOOVE lahpet so so much!!! and whenever we're ill, my mum cooks us hin gyo (that water based soup!). and in burma i got to try pigeon eggs for the first time in my life and they were so nice!
so yeah, burmese food has ... a special lil place in my heart!
