The Mormon And The Barber
Hey guys.
So I was just reading Mosiah chapter 10 in the Book Of Mormon and I had an intersting thought. It was talking about the Lamanites and how they had no knowladge of the Lord or His ways and how they think they had been wronged by Him. It reminded me of the story of The Mormon And The Barber.
*switched to storytelling voice*
So once there was a man who belonged to the Mormon church and he went into this barber shop to get a haircut. As the barber started to cut his hair the man decided to make conversation. “So what church do you go to?” The man asked. The barber just huffed. “I don’t go to church because I don’t believe in God!” The man was a little bit taken aback. After remaining silent for a few moments he then ventured. “Can I ask why?” “Because if God existed I wouldn’t be having all the problems that I do now!” The ba er stated plainly. The man nodded. It seemed like the barber’s mind was already made up so he decided not to push it. After paying for his haircut the man walked outside and it was there that he noticed a beggar sitting a crossed the street. He had long knotted hair and a long beard. Marching back into the shop the man slammed his hands down on the counter. “I don’t think barbers exist!” He shouted. The handed looked extremely shocked. “What do you mean I don’t exist?! I just cut your hair!” He yelled. The man took the barber by the arm and took him outside and pointed to the beggar. “If barbers existed that man wouldn’t have the problems that he has now with his hair!” The barber looked at the beggar and then back to the man. “Well if he would just come to me for a haircut I would be able to help him with his problem!” The baber yelled back. The man just smiled. “ So don’t you think if you came to God that He would be able to help you with your problems?” The barber opened his mouth to speak but instead nothing came out. He closed it and thought for a moment. “So what time is your church meetings.” “10:00 on Sunday morning.”
There’s something to think about. :)
