Just finished reading Dungeon Crawler Carl today and OH MY GOD it’s fucking fantastic. I had no idea that the litrpg genre even existed but I am eating this UP. Literally went out to by the next book and I can’t wait to start it. I love how the characters are written and the way we learn about the game alongside Carl and Donut is very well done. I look forward to reading every new achievement description and I find myself in the edge of my seat to see what item he’ll get. Fucking phenomenal writing.

I love that Dungeon Crawler Carl got picked up to make a TV show because it's the perfect excuse for me to talk about it with people who have never heard about it, but I am unlikely to want to watch the show they make. I've just seen too many of my favorite books turned into meh shows or movies.

I really wish they were movies, rather than a show. I used to wish for a whole show, but now that's all people make and I don't have time for them. Shows can somehow spend just as long as it took me to read the novel and cover so much less ground, and if they're going to do that, I'd rather just keep my personal time for daydreaming.

This book series is eight installments long so far and there's no heckin way it's going to be a quality production of all of them. Eight seasons? In THIS economy?
