The main focus was body anatomy and colouring. I know well what I need to work on now. Also this is not perfect by any means but for my first real study? I’m proud :)

Ok so, I was reading through the Wikipedia articles on the goddess Psyche because I wanted to tell the story to my dad who didn’t know it, and I was reading through it and GUYS. I stumbled across this AMAZING relief of Psyche and Persephone!

This is just. So funny to me the way Psyche’s just leaning against her shoulder with her legs all crossed like ‘yeah, the Queen of the Underworld and I are besties, believe it’ and Persephone’s just like ‘yeah we are’ and the two of them look SO awesome here, just, total queens!

New idea ABSOLUTELY accepted, Persephone and Psyche are 100% besties, I mean, makes total sense idk why I didn’t think of it before, Queen of the Underworld and Goddess of the Soul like, makes sense! I just never thought about it before! But now I can’t stop imagining these two girlfriends meeting up for like a lunch date or something just gossiping about their husbands bc they’re both similar there too with the traumatic af story but the not-awful-by-Greek-mythology-standards husbands in the end! And their crazy mother/mother in law but on totally opposite ends of the spectrum LOL. I bet Psyche would be one of the only ones who hangs out with Persephone on a regular basis no matter what season it is because she fits just as well with Underworld Queen as Goddess of Springtime! She just matches the vibe of whichever phase her friend is in!

It’s actually such a cute idea, I love this! Kudos to whoever made this relief and whoever photographed it for Wikipedia bc I can’t find it ANYWHERE else but it is SO sassy, I love it!

Deity Journal Inspiration

I've always loved being creative for as long as I can remember. Though I've never felt like I've been really good at it or would consider myself an artist. Though creating and being artistic have been one of my favorite ways to spend time with my deities. That along with journaling.

Of course, there's no shame in your journal not looking neat or "pretty" and in my opinion, there's a kind of beauty in chaos and mess. Especially if that's just how you do things. Though something I've learned that makes adding a little something special to my journals and is incredibly easy is washi tape and stickers.

I saw a tumblr post from @/breelandwalker about a witchy inspiration journal and I took ideas from that post to implement in the notebook I have dedicated to Psyche. I've been making random inspiration pages with quotes I really like or that feel like Psyche to me and decorating with different washi tapes and stickers. I even like adding washi tape to decorate regular journal entries or lists I make in my journal.

I've been really enjoying my time with Psyche and devotional act of creating something and journaling, as well as having this physical journal that I can give as a sort of offering to her. Totally recommend doing something like this for your own deities if that's something you would enjoy.
