I just wanted to say - as I'm recording the shifter au - Zeb 1 is one of my favorites for poor Ezra still not getting to see human!Kanan. He's so peeved! Ezra and Kanan definately had me laughing multiple times. Plus, that whole scene also works so well in this AU! I love the tension that it brings of "oh shit, Zeb isn't a flying ace like Hera can they get out of it" (1/3)

Then the little details in like Hera 1 of Kanan has been through the clone wars - like the "flies the freighter like a star fighter". Some of the moments like that where not outright stated work so well! It's so good. (2/3)

And then just also, you really do get across the tragedy of the Star Wars universe even in the fics where Kanan does not have a lot of POV scenes but you can just feel the loss of the Jedi Order haunting the work. The way Kanan's been so alone and the trauma of it all... I really have loved all your Rebels works for getting across the gravity of loss that the Empire wrought. It's absolutely heart wrenching in every one. (3/3)

I meant to answer these earlier and completely forgot! I have such a soft spot for the shapeshifter AU. I really -- I don't know if "loved" or "enjoyed" is the right word -- I put a lot of effort into shaping my Rebels fic around the hole the Jedi left both in the galaxy and for their survivors, and with this specific one a lot of that had to do with Kanan's and Ezra's Jedi-ness having a physical manifestation in a way that it doesn't necessarily have in the main universe. Because Ezra just doesn't know and none of the others do either (I can't remember if this is explicitly in the text anywhere, but while it wasn't a secret that the Jedi/Force-users were shapeshifters, it was not common knowledge at all), so it's even weirder than normal Force abilities.

do you know how you want the story to end when you start, or are you just stumbling through the figurative wilderness hoping to find a road?

generally i start writing cuz i get an idea for a specific scene, & sometimes either that scene is the whole fic or writing it leads easily to the other couple scenes that make the whole fic, so in that sense i know the ending. otherwise no, i have no idea where i'm going. i do almost always outline! but i'll start an outline to figure out where the fic ends

filt is actually maybe the sole outlier where i did know the ending (of the series, once i started the second part & plot appeared) almost immediately, & then had to backtrack how to get there. on g-d i WILL get cody to hold a baby

do you have any kind of consistent writing schedule or just hoping for the best?

i do not have a consistent eating schedule rn, let alone anything else. i wld like to write more regularly, but i probly need to be on adhd meds to manage it. also like i need fic to be a thing i do for fun or the rats in my brain'll start to throw a tantrum y'know
