Experiencing Brahman Consciousness
How to explain the unexplainable of becoming one and nothing. There are perhaps a million words and verses and this is why the vedas exist, to give you a repeated glimpse so that you may plant the seed and reach the goal of your existence. If not in this lifetime perhaps the next. This is why we exist all the time. I am everything and everything is me is the experience of becoming one. Manifesting at will, knowing, seeing, experiencing and expecting nothing...just as described below. How do I know because I am and have become as one, Brahman. I am at the seat of my own movie directing, playing the lead, editing and becoming all that is. THIS IS BRAHMAN.
Lavanga Lakshmi Manjari
"Brahman" is a sanskrit word derived from the root "brah" which means greatness, and is applicable to all objects which have the quality of greatness. In specific "brah" applies to that object which by nature and qualities possesses this greatness to an infinite degree. Therefore, the word "Brahman" denotes that supreme Person who is the abode of all auspicious qualities to an infinite degree. Hence, knowledge and realization of Brahman is the supreme achievement.
In Brahman Consciousness the individual mind is completely absorbed into the Mind of Lord Brahma, like a tiny bubble floating within a vast calm lake. Inside the bubble resides the completely crystal clear ego of the person in Brahman Consciousness. He or she can appreciate without restriction the entire range of intelligence and knowledge that is contained in the Mind of Lord Brahma. Anything may be known to him and will be known by him at the exact appropriate time.
His mind is completely silent - witnessing the glory of Lord Brahma as a child watching a delightful fairy tale unfold. He expects nothing, wants nothing, thinks about nothing and remembers nothing. He simply witnesses the world around him in childlike innocence because everything is a completely new and fresh experience for him, every minute of every day - 24 hours a day.
He is completely above fear and doubt - unshakable in the knowledge that nothing in the universe is foreign to him or can possibly harm him. He has nothing to do at all and spends his time reacting to others and the environment. Whatever he may do in response to the environment is loving and supporting to everyone he touches, however he does not plan it this way - it is just the spontaneous result of his action.
Occasionally, a thought may arise in his mind, but it is not his thought and he clearly knows this. He has completely stopped thinking altogether, so when a thought does arise he immediately welcomes it as Lord Brahma's thought and he appreciates it completely, understanding it totally, immediately and without distortion. Often, he just takes action without thought or at least without appreciating that he had a thought, moving and acting as if Lord Brahma Himself was moving his body or speaking through his mouth. He feels like a sort of robot or mechanical man that someone else is moving, like a puppet.
Whatever his body does, he watches and is surprised and delighted by the play. He views his body as the puppet or robot of Lord Brahma - it is not even his body. If Lord Brahma wants to feed and clothe this body, he watches and enjoys the play. If Lord Brahma wants to rest the body, he watches and enjoys the resting of the body.
He feels like a passenger, not the driver and certainly not the owner of the body. He knows that at any moment Lord Brahma may move him into a different body for the benefit of that perspective. He has forgotten what it was like to be a "normal human being" full of anxiety, doubts, fears, ambitions, goals, desires, pains, weaknesses, struggle, unhappiness, happiness, frustrations, anger, disappointments, etc. Life is very simple now - it is easy to feel the bliss that is life and that bliss is sufficient for him, he wants nothing else, he cannot even make himself desire anything. After all, he is floating in bliss 24 hours a day and knows it will never end.
On the left-hand path it is necessary to enter the spontaneous chaos that is our true nature by breaking taboos, and shattering the chains of slave morality. Kali is there to help. She is the great liberator, representing the consuming aspects of reality, but burdened with the task of bringing about self-actualization. One does not worship her, but instead enacts with her divinity from a subjective perspective. But with Kali we risk madness when we let go of the familiar setting of our self-prescribed limitations. In this madness, Kali simultaneously creates and destroys, intoxicated with the paradox that death feeds on life, and life feeds on death — the eternal Wheel of Time. She is in the waning and waxing of the moon, the turning of the seasons, the shedding of the old self for the new, these are all part of her feminine rhythms. Her healing and empowering energy is not just for women, though, but for men as well. Embracing this dark manifestation of the anima shatters illusions and reveals that the repressed feminine aspects regarded as weak, irrational, chaotic, or emotional, are in truth, powerful tools to help lead one to self-deification.
The Goddess of Sacred Sex.
The history of Lilith is much older than Adam and the Genesis creation myth. The earliest recorded stories of Lilith appear in ancient Sumerian texts around 3000 BCE where she is known as the hand maiden of the great Goddess Inanna, “Queen of Heaven” who presided over sacred sexual rites. In the temples of Inanna, the holy women were known as qadishtu, sacred priestesses who were able to mediate the divine sexual gifts of the goddess with the men who came to worship. As Inanna’s handmaiden, Lilith was a beautiful young woman, the ‘hand of Inanna’ who gathered the men from the streets and brought them to the temple for holy rites.
And so Lilith as demon succubus actually began her recorded history as a beautiful seductive young woman, approaching men to take them to Inanna’s holy temple for an experience that reflected the liberal freedom of sexual attitudes and practices of Goddess worship.
What happens to Lilith next mirrors the rise of patriarchy from around 2500 BCE where the Goddess’ vast empire was attacked at its very core, her inner temple of sacred sexual love. In order for patriarchy to achieve this overthrow, it had to discredit and suppress the sacred sexual rites of Goddess religion, severing the people from its power. This was achieved by the systematic demonizing of women’s sexual energy and their ability to mediate the divinity of the Goddess. Over the ensuing centuries Lilith, the young handmaiden of Inanna, came to represent everything that was dangerous and evil in the sexual realm, focusing men’s most dreaded fears around the power of the sexual female.
Lilith now assumes the form upon which the Hebrew legends were developed and where she is assigned a central place in Jewish demonology. In the early part of the first millennium BCE the Hebrew exile into Canaan and later Babylon, saw patriarchy needing to subdue the female worship of the Fertility Goddess Anath (a later incarnation of Inanna and Ishtar), whose holy rites allowed worshippers prenuptial sexual freedoms which were altogether in conflict with Hebraic traditions. The prophets denounced the practices of the Israelite women, citing Lilith as a sexually demonic example of what this kind of worship was encouraging. For the Hebrew men and their religion in exile to survive, it was imperative that the women be programmed to be submissive and bound to the interests of family, men and society. A key imperative in proving one’s maleness also resided in the ability to father children, so any threat to a man’s potency and his progeny needed to be suppressed. Because Lilith and her roots in Goddess worship signified a sexually independent woman who had control over pregnancy and infancy, her demonizing was essential to the survival of the Jewish race.
And so Lilith’s fall from grace as the beautiful hand maiden representing the liberated sexuality of the goddess temples, to the feared demoness of Hebraic tradition, enters the 21st century quite reinvented.
Lilith has thrown off the shackles of demoness and assumed almost heroine proportions to a modern female audience who is eager to explore the sexual shadow. Women are done with the Christian model of femininity they have been sold for millennia and are exploring a much larger palette of opportunities to express themselves. It is safe once again for women to access the full power and spectrum of their sexuality, spread their wings like Lilith and explore the shadow to see what it holds and in doing so, create healing for the long standing wounded feminine. Lilith is the new pin up girl for female sexual emancipation and just as she preceded Eve in the original marital bed, she now heals the shadow feminine by marrying the light as depicted in the sacredness of Eve, and births a new archetype of the divine feminine, one that is powerful enough to heal herself and forgive the masculine.
Lilith, Queen of the Night, has risen through the ranks from demon succubus to be worshipped as a popular modern goddess, but cross her at your own peril. Her shadow still contains the raw terror of your worst nightmares, with piercing screech and ripping talons. Today she wears a benevolent visage, but never underestimate the power of Lilith, nor the women who claim her patronage.
