Highway Tears

It was on the highway driving home from work. A whole year later. It was dark and rainy. Our song came on the radio. It was then, that i pulled over. I held myself and cried. My heart ached more than it ever did before. It felt like the whole car was closing in on me. I started to drive again. I could barely steer. Tears filled my eyes, ran down my cheeks, and stained my blouse. Everything hurt. It was in that moment I realized I couldn’t pretend anymore. You are in everything I do and everything I am. I love you.
