It changes, moment to moment. Sometimes I feel so good, proud of myself for keeping things together, for how much I’m able to do. Then without warning it shifts, and I feel so insignificant because there’s so little I’ve accomplished.

Hey Guys!!
Anyone suffering from endometriosis, I want you to know you aren't alone! There are so many support groups out there, especially on Facebook. If you ever feel like giving up or the pain is too much to bare, reach out. 1 in 10 women suffer from this debilitating illness and theres not enough recognition of it. But together, we can stand and share our stories. We can raise the awareness we desperately need. We deserve more, we deserve better option in terms of treatments. Not temporary solutions, actual long term solutions. If you ever need to talk, feel free to reach out to me!
Sometimes when you buy shit online, you win big. My hip may be killing me after that 5k yesterday, but I'm feeling chronically fabulous.
My Tips for living with Chronic Illness
For me that means CFS/ME and endometriosis.
* Enjoy the good days. Try not to feel guilty when you feel good - it doesn’t mean you’re not sick, or that you’ve been faking or exaggerating. It’s a space to breathe and to remember life outside of your illness. Don’t use good days as an opportunity to “catch up” on the things you haven’t been able to do, unless those things enhance the day.
* Use your energy on things that make you feel good. For me, that means making my bed and tidying the kitchen every day - that might seem like a waste of my limited spoons, but mentally it’s really good for me. It helps me feel functional and productive. It makes me feel less self conscious if people come to visit. It gives me a sense of accomplishment and participating in family life. Sometimes self care is doing chores
* Spell things out to people - they really don’t understand. If you have to cancel plans because you can’t drive that day, or you’re too tired to stand/walk etc, but you still want to see people, make sure you tell them that. Ask them if they can come by your place instead. If you’re with people and they want to go somewhere that isn’t accessible to you, speak up and tell them why. They don’t see it, they don’t understand because they haven’t had to see the world through the same lens.
* Along the same lines, if people keep telling you to “get well soon” or otherwise waiting for you to get better/recover/get back to normal, tell them this is your life now. They’ll probably tell you to stop being so negative, and you can roll your eyes, but it’s ok to remind people what the chronic part of chronic illness means.
* Also, if you’re not up for educating people, don’t, that’s ok too. For me it depends on the day and the person, sometimes it’s not worth the effort
* Creativity, expression, a sense of belonging and being understood etc. are just as important as rest and meds and all the other things you do to take care of yourself. Finding ways to meet those needs is well worth the energy. You are not just your body - your thoughts and experiences and emotional needs are important too

#SYDNEY have you got your tickets! We can’t wait to hear from #SamanthaWills at this years #EndoMarch High Tea! (Ticket link in Bio) #Repost @samanthawills with @get_repost ・・・ I recently published an article titled “When the Body Screams” which provides a quick snapshot into my recent diagnosis and treatment of Stage 4 endometriosis.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Before I was diagnosed in November last year, I knew absolutely nothing about what endo was. I had rationalised to myself the pain I was living with was ‘just how it was’ and proceeded to do all I could to numb it.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Endometriosis affects one in nine women and March is Endometriotis Awareness Month. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ That is why I am donating my time this month to the below two not-for-profits and speaking at their events. I too am in the very early learning phase of this condition. ⠀ ⠀ While I will never be a medical expert on the topic, I am dedicated to sharing my story about it in the hope that the vulnerability that I am committed to telling it with, allows it to be relative to women who are silently experiencing the same.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ These events are ticketed with all proceeds going to Endometriotis research in the mission to #EndEndo.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ I will be presenting the keynote at each which will include a bit about the Samantha Wills brand journey and what may have been seen publicly VS the parallel of what was actually happening personally and how my body was talking to me the entire time, its just that for the better part of it, I chose to continually ignore and numb Her.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ There will be a panel of medical professionals speaking also, so if you or someone you love is (or think you may be) experiencing endometriosis, these events are for you. x⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ EVENTS:⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ➕BRISBANE: Saturday, 21 March⠀⠀⠀ @QENDOau Long Lunch ⠀⠀⠀ 11am – 3pm⠀⠀⠀ The Calile Hotel⠀⠀⠀ 48 James Street ⠀⠀⠀ Fortitude Valley, QLD⠀ ⠀ ➕SYDNEY: Saturday, 28 March⠀⠀⠀ @endometriosisaustralia High Tea⠀⠀⠀ 1pm – 4pm⠀⠀⠀ Hyatt Regency Sydney⠀⠀⠀ 161 Sussex Street⠀⠀⠀ Sydney, NSW 2000⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀ Tickets and more information available via link in bio – SWx⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ #endometriosisawarenessmonth https://www.instagram.com/p/B9oIjP2Akc8/?igshid=xvc22k7ge9fb
