Here's my half of the kings of hell in Goetiaverse, from left to right: Asmodeus, Satan, Leviathan.

Mammon, Lucifer, Belphegor and Beelzebub are iwi's, so.. gestures.

Lesser demon, Nouvach-Modai, patron of body modifications, big and small. He simply likes the thought of creatures changing their physical appearance to something they think is more beautiful. He loved to observe various practices and even began to pick it up himself and provide assistance.

He's existed for quite a long time, and became a demon only when heaven began to deem altering "god's given body" unholy. The negative perception altered his body, permanently warping his arms into something skeletal and grotesque. However, he's grown pretty accustomed to them, especially now that they let him extend and retract his claws. (Think FMA Lust or Lady Dimitrescu) They're quite useful.

The four eyes are natural. the -Modai suffix was a later addition when he arrived to the pits of hell, as a show of admiration for his division's king, Asmodeus.

He's been cooped up in Heaven for millenia, so you could say he's been waiting for the chance to head out and pass judgement on his fallen brethren.

Also posting this alt I made of the satan sketch bc its pretty... lore relevant?

Basically, "Satan" is simply a title referring to an adversary of heaven, and there's at least two other beings in hell that share that title with this one. But he's the King of Hellfire, the first to be sent down to the pits, the Great Red Dragon.

In Goetiaverse, he shares the same face as the one called "God", and I did write quite a bit about that, which I'll directly copy-paste under the cut.

The being known as "The Adversary" was a formless, nameless wandering spirit of about the same potential as God. God, knowing this invited the spirit in helping to shape his domain, to which the spirit had no reason to object to. They were eventually cast out for refusing to bow to humankind, but they did this not out of malice; they simply didn't see a reason why they should lower themselves before something that was a creation below them.

"Satan" is actually only a title; but the one who bears the same face as God is only ever known by this simply because he has no other name. But there are others who share the title as him, some of which he is able to use as a vessel to traverse the surface. He cannot do this on his own as he is shackled to the pits. Not until the apocalypse, anyway.

They were originally a formless spirit wandering around with no particular goal, and they found contentment in this. Until God invited him to share in shaping his domain, to which the spirit did not see why they should refuse. And all was well, for a while. Until he was cast out for refusing to bow to humans. Why would he, after all? When he had nearly the same capacity as the one you could say he formerly partnered with.

And so he was chained to the pits for his so-called "arrogance". This angered him, and he spent some time struggling against his fetters in an effort to free himself. Majority of hell's landscape owes to his ferocious rage of that time.

Finding that it was futile, he willed himself to calm down, and looked upwards, to observe with what little of his omnipotence he was allowed to wield still. There he found the angels beginning to fall, and he thought God's decisions too rash.. too.. totalitarian.

He gathered those who fell, gave them a place in the pits that served as his prison, and began planning for a retaliation. Not as revenge; but only to set himself free and give all those who have been sent to hell an opportunity to explore the world as they so deserved and were wrongfully denied of. All because they thought to think differently or ask questions of opposition.
