As much as Stolas had enjoyed being asked to dance, had enjoyed someone showing that they were interested in him, had even enjoyed the kiss…, it wasn't the same. He didn't know the man who had asked him to dance, didn't feel anything for him. Stolas had been flattered by his compliment, surprised that he'd shown any interest…., and this was the first party he'd been to that wasn't some stuffy Goetia function, where he'd had to attend with Stella; of course he'd wanted to dance.
But the fact of the matter was that he was drunk, he was sad, and he didn't want to be at this party any longer. He didn't belong here; he didn't hate Blitz. Stolas hated himself more than he could ever hate Blitz. He had been the one to suggest their arrangement, hadn't paid attention to Blitz's boundaries, had made Blitz think that all he wanted from him was sex. He'd come on too strong, had been so caught up with someone finally wanting him that he'd missed….so much.
And now it was too late. He'd given Blitz the crystal, had known that he might be breaking his own heart…., and it turned out that Blitz hadn't wanted him after all. He truly was a monster, had been all this time.
Stolas had tried to pull back on his impassive mask, to slip behind it the way he'd had to for so many years, but it had slipped. It had slipped, and he'd channeled that heartbreak, that sadness into anger, in the hopes that it would protect him. But it only made him feel worse.
Just like this party, in the end.
He stumbles out of the house, unsteady on his feet, and it is all he can do to hold back his tears. Emotions are unbecoming of a Goetia, and it wouldn't do to cry in front of anyone.
The prince doesn't notice the familiar van nearby as he finally trips, falling to the ground, jarring still barely healed injuries. And for a moment, he doesn't move. Just lays there, like the piece of trash he is, where he belongs.
But after a long moment, he hauls himself into a sitting position, pulls his legs to his chest, and hides his face, unable to stop the stream of tears any longer.
