There was a day when was an absolute no-go for me. Just the smell of seaweed made me want to gag. That was also when I didn't eat green things (see yesterday's post). For real! My taste buds agreed with meat, potatoes and mac-n-cheese. I can pinpoint the exact moment that changed. I had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go to Japan and stay with a friend who had been living there for several years. Shane and I had talked before I left and he was worried about what I was going to eat while I was there. He had lived there for several years in the military and knew I wasn't open to new. I promised myself before I left that I was going to try whatever was put in front of me. And I did just that! WOW! I had been missing out on so much flavor simply because I was stuck in old patterns and unwilling to try something new. Now sushi is a must-have staple on a regular basis.
