There were several steps to figuring out what to do in a new place. Information was one, just chilling around was another, but then money was a third thing.
Having been placed in Moonpie Motel, and judging from its overal quality, it should be no surprise that Mila’s funds weren’t as expansive. She had enough to get around for a while, especially since she didn’t have to pay any rent for this choice place, but a girl had to eat! And had to buy some of these smashing fashions, but that would come later.
Now, officially, Mila had no job. That’s probably why she was placed in Moonpie Motel, though she was fine with this room. She’d slept in forests under large trees before, curled up in nothing but her armour and a wet cape - gods, did she hate the rain - so the fact she had to pay nothing and still get to sleep in a bed at all was frankly, a total steal! Even though she had no job, however, didn’t mean she was without her means.
Sadly, her weapons were gone, so she couldn’t do any duels and bet on her own win. The guild had no presence here, either, so that was another source of income lost to her. What she did still have where her throwing knifes and lockpicking set however, and surely she could do something with those!
She wandered through the halls of Moonpie Motel itself first, trying to see if there were any potential people around in need of a shady deal. The place sure seemed to be that way, judging by its appearance. What Mila found on one of the upper floors was a girl struggling to open the lock on a door; perhaps her own, perhaps someone else’s, but Mila assumed that not everyone in this city was as shady as she was herself.
“Hey kid, need a hand? For a small fee, I’ll have that door, and any other you’d like, open in a jiffy.”
