I was told by someone on /co/ that Tannah and Vard grew out of a desire to see the Gogo and Andy pairing from Bomango fug. Is there truth to this or just a spurious rumor?

It’s not exactly true, but you might say it arose from a similar sort of inspiration. I mean, the kind of person who likes Van Heist’s work (which is great) would probably also enjoy Tannah & Vard (Which still has stories available for free, or pay what you want!), and for similar reasons. And I guess we did do it partly because Gogo and Andy were the kind of thing we like, but not going far enough for the likes of us!

Ya got the size difference, the normal-sized young fella and the giant-size tough lady… but I’d like to think the stories are pretty different in the final analysis since Tannah & Vard is both much dirtier and set in a Hyborian-style fantasy world.

Actually, I suppose there’s even a bit of similar dynamic where as things go on, in traveling with Tannah, Vard will have to become a little tougher and more skilled!

But here’s what Mindwipe has to say, which is all that really matters:

“Tannah was purely born out of filling an alliterative anon’s ask.

Gunwild is responsible for the creation of Vard as her cohort/companion, and I assume that his design and characteristics are the way they are because they make a nice compliment to a tall, muscular, actiony character.  It’s a common duo dynamic where you have two opposites that work well together.”
