In my heart i like to pair liu qingge with his alt universe counterpart jiang cheng. I think they might be able to even each other out nicely! Lqg gets jc to chill (just a bit!) and jc introduces lqg to the concept of responsibility (hed be horrified at the state of bai zhan peak)
I saw that fic! Yes, I guess it could work. Now that’s a new level of “pair the spares”. For me, however, the vibe of SVSSS and MDZS is different enough that I personally often have difficulty suspending my disbelief about them being in the same universe, since my brain consistently gets stuck on Airplane Bro and his relationship to the world, which is probably what interests me the most about SVSSS (the transmigration).
EDIT: You can just search for both LQH and JC on AO3, but the fic I’m talking about seeing in passing is this 200k one “What married people do” by Shamelesscooper.
Just curious, and definitely not trying to open up debate or discussion, but were you against yuri on ice?
nah, i wasn’t against it!
it was just a case of “oh no, another sports anime, seems queerbaity” (because that’d kind of been the thing for the past couple of years, thanks free). it came out, i missed the first bump of watchers, but i was still kinda like “meh”. i mean, hq had just come out at the same time, y’know? that’s my jam and initially didn’t leave room for much else on the radar.
there were lots of posts pointing out the relationship, all of the “teasing”, and i sighed mightily and went “here we go” and lost most interest in it.
then the kiss. i went “good on you, yoi, and good for you, yoi fandom.” i like it when queer becomes canon. there were some wary murmurs that they’d try to no homo their way out of it, but my general idea was “eh, i’ll watch it if it becomes canon, and probably after it’s concluded.”
i was never against yoi, but i have it blacklisted to hell and back because it has consumed my dash, and i’m regularly and deeply irritated by people shrieking to the high heavens that it’s the First Ever Genre Show With Queer Romance. it’s not. stop that. it was just a lot of fandom and hype in relatively little time, especially overlapping in fandoms that i’m a part of, so it was kind of inescapable. it’s like the opposite of the proximity effect. it’s the “get the hell off my lawn until i’m good and ready to deal with you” effect.

would you do a kagehina arranged marriage au?
sure do you have any specifics?? :o

have you read the raven circle series?

The Raven Cycle, The Raven Cycle, PLEASE READ THE RAVEN CYCLE. It is so, so good, omg. It's an urban fantasy following Blue Sargent, the only non-psychic in a family of psychics. The story follows her adventures with the Raven boys of Aglionby Academy as they search for a sleeping Welsh King called Glendower, who's said to be entombed in the mountains of West Virginia. I've fallen in love with this series, and it is so, so good. It's funny and romantic and just. Ugh. Pls read it.
Hahaha! I should have mentioned that I’ve read (most of) TRC. I do enjoy it but the way Gansey’s future death is held over the reader’s head constantly (literally from chapter 1) is the thing that’s kept me from picking up TRK. I will finish the series... one day... Thank you for speaking up! I was pretty obsessed once I finished BLLB but haven’t been in the mood to finish since TRK came out.

it might me a little bit world-coming-to-an-end-y, but The Last Dragon by Silvana de Mari is a very sweet book about an elf-child and his adventures (while a lot of bad stuff happens, the story is really about kindness and acceptance) If not for now, I would definitely recommend it for later :)
Oh, the description sounds so lovely! Added to my list, thank you c:

Maybe they really are playing the long game and 100% don't believe a short not super strong person can succeed as anything but a libero. They'd rather invest in a worse current candidate with future profits in mind
aka they think Hinata has peaked and that tall guy hasn't even come close
Val, you are the voice of reason. Meanwhile I;m still grinding my teeth and side-eyeing that coach. I think you're right as to their reasoning, although I’m going to disagree with them, and pray Hinata proves them all WRONG! (I can see disaster all over it, ngl, so I hope this isn’t a horrible step back for the sunshine boy.)

I feel ya, it seems unfair for sure. And kinda random
Suspect there’s a story brewing (well, it’s already brewed, but I reckon it’s more for story purposes than actual fairness :( )

right??? thats such bullshit!
I was scratching my head over Koganegawa and Kunimi’s involvement ahead of Hinata, tbh, but Kunimi is a quality player (even if he is a lazy git) and Koganegawa has the sort of potential that could be as spellbinding as Hinata’s, but 2m guy has height and that’s about it. (I will no doubt be proved very wrong and he’ll end up being the most amazing player in the whole of Japan, but ... I’m still grumbling.)
Before anyone complains, I do genuinely like Koganegawa and Kunimi.
Suspect I’m up in arms about this because I’m short like Hinata - ha ha. I am actually loving this development and am looking forward to this new arc (really want to see how Karasuno get on without their first years, too). The recent run of chapters that have been all about the games did leave me a little weary and detached, but having something I can connect to has helped me feel more involved again.
Happy Bday!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎂🎂🎂🍰🍰🍰🎁🎁🎁🎊🎊🎊 I hope you have a great Friday and enjoy yourself today!
