Serena, princess of La Luna Kingdom, is in a bit of a tough spot: her betrothed, Prince Darien of the Kingdom of La Terra, has gone missing the day before the wedding. With conniving royals and greedy politicians looking for any chance to steal the throne from the last living member of the Royal Family, Serena has no choice but to go forward with the wedding, groom or no groom. Cue Goku of the Saiyan empire, Serena's childhood friend who she hasn't seen in years... and who happens to still be single.

With some pleading and puppy-dog eyes, Goku agrees to stand in for Darien at the ceremony, disguised as the missing prince. But court intrigue doesn't disappear after the celebration, and now Goku must stay at the palace and continue to play the prince, or risk Serena losing her crown as queen and the kingdom falling to ruin. Between awkward meals and even more awkward sleeping arrangements, Queen Serena and her stand-in husband have gotten used to their happy, pretend life together. But after months with no word of Prince Darien, Serena begins to wonder if he'll ever come back... and if she still wants him to.
