@goldenburn ; Cassidy's eyes flick toward the other with a quirk of the eyebrow. She didn't quite get what he was crying about, then again this was the first time she'd ever seen the kid. "Hey... What're you crying for?" she asks, her gaze still slightly hardened. Maybe she should lighten up a bit, but it was never something she was all that good at. Not that the beginning, anyway.
most would expect that upon seeing a child crying, people would feel concern or worry. but evan had essentially become the laughing stock of this diner, opting to hiding under the tables to hide from those who might point and laugh at how overwhelmed and terrified he got whenever he was here. he tried to simply keep his eyes closed, focusing on nothing but the footsteps around him. if he was getting close he would recognize the footsteps, basically had them memorized thanks to his nightmares.
his parents didn’t exactly approve of how terrified evan was all the time -- such a sudden shift from joy to terror upon being here from their child was perhaps worrying, at least to his mother. but rather then taking him away from this place, from the monster that plagued him, he was instead ushered to spend time with kids around his age. “there was nothing to be afraid of”, was what she told him; he knew that wasn’t true.
evan trembled idly, fumbling with his hands as he tried to focus on something, anything other than how scared he was. he knew that people were looking at him, probably laughing at him too, but he was trying not to focus on it. he was snapped out of his worries when someone asked him a question, and he looked up to see -- another kid.
" uhm .. “ he scrubbed at his eyes, attempting to get rid of the tears. cassidy’s hardened glare was enough to make him nervous, feeling like she was going to laugh at him if he told her that he was scared of the animatronics. it was a reasonable fear to him, but everyone else thought it was stupid for some reason that he couldn’t understand. “ it’s .. it’s nothing. “
