Doughnut balls, or bolas de donut, are a fun take on classic doughnuts. For a sweet and filling snack, these bite-sized treats are fried to golden perfection and then dusted with powdered sugar.
Ingredients: 2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 2 tsp baking powder. 1/2 tsp salt. 1/2 cup milk. 2 large eggs. 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Vegetable oil for frying. Powdered sugar for dusting.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a smooth dough forms. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot to 350F 175C. Scoop small portions of the dough using a spoon or cookie scoop and drop them carefully into the hot oil. Fry the doughnut balls until they are golden brown and crispy, turning them occasionally for even cooking, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove the doughnut balls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. While still warm, dust the doughnut balls generously with powdered sugar. Serve the Bolas de Donut warm and enjoy!
