Describe yourself in 3 words.
Love the outdoors
Who or What inspired your first interests in photography and to start posting on Instagram? How old were you when you first took up the interest?
21 was when I took photography more seriously. I discovered a bunch of artists on ig that inspired me to buy a iPhone and a dslr. @insighting was my first inspiration. I soon discovered nature photographers such as @alexstrohl, and @fursty.
Who are some of your favorite instagrammers?
@alexstrohl @fursty @hannes_becker @jordanherschel, etc
How has becoming such an influential figure on this platform changed your life? Do you ever feel pressured in any way?
Yes there's pressure. It's crazy how many people I inspire and influence them. Taking photos can involve risks, and I don't want to affect the safety of those who I inspire.
Your feed is filled with a combination of breath-taking landscape and urban shots. Which do you prefer to shoot and why?
Always will prefer nature. Nature, and landscapes are naturally beautiful. I love combining those with lifestyle such as camping/hiking to tell a story, and inspire the viewer to get out.
What makes (your category. eg: landscape, street, portraits, life style, travel/adventure, ect.) photography so special to you?
My style of photography is special to me because I want to show others the beauty the PNW has. Even if the weather is "crappy." I want others to get out more.
What camera do you use and what is your favorite lens to use?
Canon 6d with a Rokinon 14mm. I love it for landscapes. Also great for night photography.
What editing tools do you use and how much effort would you say you put into editing?
I use Lightroom and occasionally vscocam. Usually I spend 10-20 minutes on a photo.
What are your favorite conditions to shoot in?
Foggy, rainy weather. Clear nights aswell.
What is your Favorite photo you have ever taken and why?
This recent one I took. A truck towing a camper on the highway in the North Cascades. I feel it defines to get out and explore. Just hit the road, and see what's out there.
What is on the top of your bucket list?
Norway
What do you think, makes a good photograph?
Something that will make the viewer feel something. Something to tell a story visually.
Where is your favorite location to shoot?
Washington coast, north cascades.
What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out their Instagram account and wanting to gain exposure?
Shoot as much as you can. Never give up.
Lastly, what is your life motto or favorite quote?
Do what makes you happy
