Today’s newest MCU redesign is the suit of Hank Pym’s third comic identity as Goliath, styled after the MCU’s Ant-Man suits.

What If...Clint Barton Picked Up Project Goliath?

Here’s another What If…? Idea I had over the weekend, revolving around the time in comics when Clint Barton shed the Hawkeye moniker and became the new Goliath.

[In this alternate timeline, Clint Barton was placed under house arrest due to the Sokovia Accords, in exchange for his family’s protection. That is until one day he is approached by Bill Foster and some government agents, who offers him a chance for pardon in exchange for helping test out a new version of Project Goliath.

Clint reluctantly accepts, thinking this will help his family. While he struggles with this new powers at first, he quickly masters it in order to deal with an ailing and angry Ava Starr/Ghost, who was still hunting down Hank Pym and Hope Van Dyne at this time.

Upon learning of Ava’s origins and connections to Hank and Bill, Clint gets his wife Laura to help him track down the Pyms before Ghost can hurt them. After subduing Ava after her powers started to glitch out of control, he convinces both Hank and Bill to put aside their grievances to help each other and their families; simultaneously apologizing for dragging Scott Lang into the Avengers’ fiasco in Germany.

With that, the Pyms, along with Bill’s team of scientists, are able to finish building a Quantum Tunnel to rescue Janet and gain more Healing Particles to stabilize Ava’s condition.]

I know this one’s a bit more unlikely to happen, but I just thought it would be interesting since Clint Barton noticeably adopted the mantle of Goliath when he fought Kang in the comics. And since we’re still currently building to up the Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars, I thought an elseworld like What If…? would be one way to introduce this alternate version of Hawkeye to the main MCU continuity.
