Sulga House of Beef Soup, 4451 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles (East Hollywood), CA 90004
Specializing in gom tang (aka beef bone soup), Sulga makes their organic beef bone broth with bones and knee caps. They also pride themselves in serving premium cuts of beef, including ribeye to cow knee, organic beef bone broth. The menu includes appetizers, beef bone soup, wild yam noodles, bibimbap, grilled meats, stews and more. Their food is healthier.
The complimentary banchan included fish cakes (yum), spicy shredded beef (too salty), potato strips (bland, crunchy), daikon cubes, and napa cabbage kimchi. Complimentary hot tea was also served.
Hot brisket noodle soup ($20): wild yam noodles, organic beef bone & knee cap broth, brisket slices, shiitake mushroom, onion, red bell pepper egg. This was a nice big bowl of collagen rich milky bone broth and soft noodles. The brisket slices were very thin and a bit tough. The egg omelet was finely shredded. The broth is left underseasoned so that you can add salt and pepper to taste. A soy based sauce was provided as a dipping sauce for the beef. It was comforting but the noodles were too soft for me and the beef was tough.
The restaurant looked homey with lots of plants. I think they have a parking lot but the location is on the edge of Koreatown where parking is easier to find. Service was very friendly.
