SHE’S AT A STANDSTILL , held at a crossroads that she can’t seem to break through. normally, shimizu is quite self-assured. she’s diligent and prepared, and plots out her paths in advance so that she’s unlikely to encounter roadblocks. she’d made her appointment weeks ago, allotted enough time to arrive early, and had even referred to the building map to find the right room. but circumstance can’t always be accounted for— and how was she to know that there’d be a paint crew setting up for work this morning ?
the strips of long plastic caution tape wholly block the direction she was supposed to take, and for a moment shimizu stands dumbfounded in front of it. she sighs, feeling her shoulders drop in mild frustration, and settles her lips into a tight line. asking for help wouldn’t hurt her now, though it may be that the person she asks is in the same situation as her ... she hopes not. “ anou ... if they’re painting this hallway, then do you know another route through ? i don’t come this way often enough to know. ”
