Okay so! Not dead!! Sorry for dropping off the face of the earth for a second there-- life got in the way and I simply didn't have the time or energy to write as much as I wanted to. I've been pretty much exclusively writing on discord for the better part of a year.

HOWEVER,,,

I'm excited to announce that I have a new RP hub! Everything is still a huge wip and right now there's only one blog attached to it, but I do plan to move Craig over there at some point (I'll be sure to make a post here when that happens)

I swear I'm not dead 😭 work's been kicking my ass, and my motivation to write has been sparse as a result. I just don't have it in me to write longer threads on here atm, as much as I want to

but if anyone wants to add me on discord (cyanastrologist), shorter rps on there are a lot easier for me to manage atm

Zevlor's eyes softened slightly as he then took the large vial of shimmering red liquid into his hands, his eyes gazing down on the large vial. "Craig...you didn't have to. You don't have to do more, you did plenty." He reassures Craig, a genuine exhausted and thankful smile washing across the Tiefling commander's face.

"It may not be much but it is enough. I'm sure I'll find a good use for this, Craig. I give you my word..." Zevlor then placed a hand on top of Craig's shoulder, "No need to apologize. I wish this wouldn't have happened....curse Kagha and her ways of influencing the other Druids around her. If Halsin hasn't placed his faith in Kagha as First Druid, then maybe we could've gotten along altogether...? I don't know."

Things between the druids and the tieflings were still quite... Tense, to put it mildly. And while Craig was trying to maintain some semblance of neutrality during all this ( after all, this didn't have anything to do with him, at the end of the day ), he couldn't help but feel like the druids were being unfair. Did they really expect the refugees to just pack everything up and leave? Where were they supposed to go? These people have already been through so much...

" I'll keep doing what I can to help. " he asserts, nodding solemnly. There was certainly no shortage of work to be done, but he didn't mind. He liked to keep himself busy.

" Surely not all the druids share Kagha's mindset. But I suppose, with her being First Druid, her word is absolute. " At least, until Halsin returned. If he did.

" I'd go looking for Halsin myself, but I'm rubbish at fighting. And I don't fancy my chances against a hoard of goblins either-- Not on my own, at least. "

Arabella's eyes beamed with a hint of surprise and yet excitement takes over. "Really? I can?" She exclaims, looking up at Craig then looking back to Craig's light-colored ferret companion. "Ozzy...that's a cute name for your companion!" She then extended a hand out, petting Ozzy on the head behind its ear. "It's nice to meet you, Ozzy. I'm Arabella!" She introduces heself, a soft kind smile washing across her face.

Ozzy appeared quite pleased with the attention, pushing his head up into Arabella's hand with a happy noise. He really was a spoiled little thing. Always loved being fawned over.

" He likes you already, I can tell. " Craig chuckled quietly, " Ozzy knows a good egg when he sees one. "

That last part was genuine. It was strange, but Craig's pet did seem to have surprisingly good intuition when it came to people. And he would not hesitate to make his displeasure known whenever he met someone he didn't like.

" You can pet him, if you'd like. He doesn't bite. "

Craig was, of course, referring to the light-colored ferret companion perched on his shoulder. Ferrets were not an especially common sight around these parts, least of all domestic ones like his own. Though she hadn't said anything, Craig was able to hazard a guess as to what the girl was thinking, based on her staring.

Kneeling down a bit, Craig extended his arm with a smile, allowing the creature to shimmy down his forearm.

" His name's Oswald. I call him Ozzy, for short. "

" Here, " Craig hands the tiefling a large vial of shimmering red liquid, " This should help. "

Since his arrival at the refugee camp, Craig had been doing his best to assist them any way he could. Since he wasn't much use with blade or bow, his aid largely consisted of performing general maintenance; crafting and repairing gear, maintaining weapons, and brewing elixirs to help keep people on their feet. That sort of thing.

" It's not much, but I'm sure you'll find a good use for it. " he appears somewhat sheepish, mechanical arm reaching up to scratch the back of his head, " I'm sorry I can't do more. "

Craig's passion for innovation had always driven him forward in the face of adversity. Even before his fateful encounter with the Illithids, he was accustomed to sleepless nights, often sacrificing personal time and social commitments to pursue his craft. When he started a new project, trivial matters such as sleeping, eating, and the passage of time became an afterthought. He would only rest when his impending exhaustion became a hinderance to his work.

Straightening his back, Craig let out a hiss of discomfort. Standing bent over a collection of blueprints and journals wasn't doing his back any favors.

" Dammit. " frustration and discomfort conspired with his fatigue. He needed a break. " I don't suppose you know any spells for back pain, Gale? "

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━  Astarion lead him through the woods, towards their destination. Smiling at Craig's words, he turned back to him for a brief moment. "Oh?" He asked, "you enjoy my company?" A pause, turning back towards the path he took the night before. "Glad to hear it because I enjoy your company as well--"

"Watch your step. The ground gets a bit rocky up here." He said as the waterfall slowly started to come into view. He sighed, "I suppose it is, though considering I haven't been able to see the sun in quite some time until recently of course, I have started to find the blinding sunlight to be just as lovely."

Stopping alongside the river that the waterfall flowed into, he turned to Craig. "Though, no matter the time of day, the company is what makes it perfect." He said, dropping the other's hand so he could reach up to brush across the other's cheek with it. "I found this waterfall the other night, though the waterfall itself is quite beautiful, there's a secret cave hidden just behind it."

Why he wanted to show Craig when he had found it originally, he wasn't so sure, but he thought it'd be nice for the two of them to come out here and just hide away for a little while behind the waterfall. "It is rather loud once you're inside, though it does branch off. There's very little light, though we could make a torch. Although, there are some things we could do without a lot of light."

Craig felt himself shudder at the feeling of Astarion's hand brushing against his cheek, however brief the gesture was. Though his cheeks warmed, he quickly shook it off, instead offering a bashful chuckle in response.

" True, good company really does make all the difference. " he agrees, as they continue on. Upon reaching the waterfall, Craig assumed that this was the thing Astarion wanted to show him. However, at the mention of a cave behind the waterfall, Craig was immediately interested.

" A cave? " he asks, head tilting slightly to the side. It was fortunate that he brought his handy goggles of night, then. That should make navigating through the dark a bit easier. " Fascinating! I can't say I was expecting to go spelunking tonight, but it's a good thing I have my darkvision goggles with me. Though it wouldn't hurt to stay close... So we don't get separated, of course. "

While Astarion's next words went completely over his head, Craig couldn't help but wonder if there was a specific reason that the other was bringing him here. Was there, perhaps, something specific he wanted to show him?

" Have you explored the cave much yourself? " he asks, after taking a moment to admire the waterfall before them. " We don't have to worry about any giant cave spiders, do we? Might kill the mood. "

I think BG3!Craig would get along with the tiefling kiddos at the grove

Like, I can imagine him letting them play with his prosthetic arm and pet his ferret. He'd probably make them toys too

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━  "Oh? Maybe you can show me some time?" He asked. Of course Astarion knew how he wanted the other to show him, but he'd gladly watch him work, admiring the other's craft.

Eyes focused on the other, he couldn't help but imagine the things he wanted the other to do with his mouth as he watched him take a sip. Though, he quickly pulled himself out of his thoughts, bringing himself back to reality after the other spoke again.

"Mhm." He said, "If you don't mind." He clarified once more and once the other finished his drink, telling him to lead the way.... he smiled, reaching a hand out to take the other's into his before leading him away from all the noise.

"Well, I can't hint too much, but it's a place I found during my... exploration and I knew instantly that you'd appreciate its beauty as much as I did." He said, "But I hope you don't mind getting a bit damp... The air is kind of misty."

Whatever it was that Astarion wanted to show him, Craig's curiosity was thoroughly piqued. He took the other's outstretched hand and followed close behind, the sounds of merriment from the party slowly fading as the two of them walked further into the trees.

He chuckled quietly. Fortunately, the humidity didn't bother him that much. After all, when you spend the bulk of your time at the forge, your tolerance for harsh conditions inevitably rises. At least as far as heat is concerned.

" I have to admit, it's nice to have some peace and quiet for a change. It's exhausting being around so many people. " he admits bashfully, " Ah, present company excluded, of course. "

As Astarion pulls him along, Craig's eyes can't help but wander. The vampire spawn's pale skin catches the moonlight in such a way that he almost appears to be glowing. Each slight upturn of his lips revealed a glinting hint of a fang.

" It's... Quite a lovely night, isn't it? "
