saw ur tag about athletic goos and as a long distance trail runner I know a little bit - basically they're carb gels sometimes with flavouring or with some electrolytes or caffeine (!!!) added, and the idea is that if you are doing a sports thing that lasts many hours, they are a way to refuel quickly with a predictable number of calories that you also know exactly how your body will react to because once you find a brand you like you tend to stick with it. so theres less likelihood of getting a surprise upset stomach or bathroom emergency because unexpectedly something you ate disagreed with you. for example during my last 7 hour race I had like 5 of them. you can work out how many calories your sport is burning per hour and figure out how many gels you need and at what intervals to refuel and be able to keep doing your thing. they're also easy to eat while jogging since they're gels. they tend to vary from like, the consistency of honey to something more like a jello cube. either way you just slurp it out of the packet like a gremlin lol. idk hope that helps or at least isnt' too boring

Yessss tell me about the goo. The jams and jellies of Sports™️. I’m the opposite of an athlete so this is so helpful for me as a fic writer trying to add texture and accuracy. I think Shane would really like the goos. The predictable calories and effect, as you say. Ilya would probably partake in the goos as well but I’ve also seen trail runners eat, like, gummy worms for calories and I think that’s more his preference lol
