The Road Less Traveled

The Guardian stands between the worst of two worlds, on a rough path that they carved with their bare hands when nobody else would. Their golden eyes flit across the path, the only thing seperating the Ark from the quiet, empty fields expanding beyond their vision. They don't know where they lead to, as they've never dared to go explore beyond the Ark and Candle Cove in fear they'll never return.

They wonder what the creatures spawned from those lands are like. Are they hellish beasts, forged from the suffering of others and of damned souls like the Guardian themselves and so many others? Or are they holy and pure beings who seek only to temper the chaos that their neighbors bring?

The Guardian wishes that they were like that. But they're damned to walk this lonely path, as a bitter reminder that the dark woods of the Ark will always pull them in with carnivorous rabbits and black tendrils and the flickering flames of candles will always burn them with memories of what could have been. They are bound to this path, they have been for so long that they've forgotten any details about the life that they might have lived before they'd made the pact.

They finally begin to walk. They pass broken lamps and dead creatures that they don't want to stop to identify. The sickening burnt smell of death and blood drifting from the Ark is enough for one lifetime, the fumes finding their way into the Guardian's lungs and feeding the poison that runs through their veins like blood.

They push onward, towards the light that shines on either end of the path. It draws them close with promises of safety and comfort they can't provide themselves and latches onto them with sharp talons.

And yet, they continue to wander towards it, craving contact and human connection provided by the other realm.

They step into the blinding light that numbs their senses.

This is their purpose, now. They are here to protect what little peace is left in this hellish place.

They can't afford to get distracted.

And yet, they do anyways.

Since the writers are going ham on the Ethan x MC slowburn, you know what I really want? MC goes to Ethan’s place that night to confront him and they have this big argument where MC confronts Ethan for giving up on them (under the guise of accusing him of giving up on the patients) and Ethan just pushes MC further away, telling them it would have been much easier if they’ve never crossed paths. There’s some cutting words, a few tears, and at the end Ethan goes, “you should go” and just as MC is walking out the door and Ethan is retreating to his room they both realize they’re being stupid and look back and there’s just this split second of understanding that they know it’s gonna happen tonight as there’s finally nothing - no rules, no decorum - holding them back and they run into each other and just fall into each other’s arms and maybe Ethan throws a last ditch “this is a mistake” but he doesn’t pull away and MC snaps and tells him to just shut up and yeAH

somehow this blog has over 300 followers so im letting people know. this started as a study blog but ive decided to turn it into a more personal blog. i wanna get into the habit of writing, literally just putting words down for the sake of it.

i wanna talk about tv shows, movies, books, games, life, whatever comes to mind. but what im hoping is that by writing things down i can like. process my thoughts and emotions better.

So! a little list of what i like and whats going in my life:

movies in general, the last one i watched was The Batman

anime / manga (bnha, jshk, jjk, witch hat atelier, dr stone, a bit of demon slayer, haikyuu, sk8, etc)

books (all for the game trilogy is a bit of a hyperfixation for me rn, but i have a long ass list to go through so ill talk about all that too)

games (genshin, pokemon, zelda, kirby, nintendo in general tbh)

life (uni, work, identity things, how im feeling, gossip abt irl stuff)

kpop (im DEFINITELY going to comment about queendom 2, i love kepler and loona the most)

ill try to keep tags on everything but i kinda suck at it. i suck at being consistent with a bunch of things but i swear ill try to not forget.
