Goodbye Facebook
Facebook has morphed into something else. It’s unrecognizable from the Facebook of a few years ago. When it began, or rather when I began using it, it had an appeal, a potential to connect me to friends from all over. It benefited me in the way of a global village. I made friends from everywhere: Poland, Egypt, London, the villages of Taiwan, and people or friends I’ll never meet. But the allure…
Got rid of Facebook
Yes this past month I have finally deleted my Facebook account and not just deactivated it. I have to say it feels good. I don’t miss it at all. Facebook I found was too much of a distraction, and not a good one. All I did was scroll, scroll; and I didn’t really like it as a platform to share my art. I had long since given up on buying ads, and trying to understand how it all worked. I have come…

The world was a better place for 6 hours on Monday 2021-10-4
Ever since I got rid of Instagram and Facebook, I’m now only on social media for about 45mins a day 😱 y’all...it used to be FOUR HOURS 💀
Setting new limits...
I’ve deleted Facebook and Instagram from my phone.
Crazy. I know. No one’s ever done that before...
I did it because I’ve become so unproductive and distracted by those platforms. I had to say goodbye, and I’m going to make tumblr my platform of choice, because it’s not just a monotonous space. It’s a creative, open space that I think will really let me be focused and determined, and it can serve as a space for sharing my accomplishments without the pressure of appearance that comes with instagram, or the constant, idiotic droning that comes with Facebook.
So, we’ll see how this goes.
XOXO.

Deactivation
I kept on saying,
"there's nothing good on the internet today."
" Another 24 hours wasted."
,while scrolling on Facebook. So, I finally found the right course of action for my simple problem.
Facebook is exhausting me
· The ridiculous statuses
· The arguments
· The bullies
· The repeated articles
· Non-credible source links
· Multiple advertisements it thinks you want to see
· Useless memes (mostly that)
I’m thinking of taking a break from Facebook, unplugging per say. Maybe a month, who knows maybe more. I’ve just begun to notice how much time I waste just scrolling through Facebook….I don’t actually enjoy it, it’s just become a habit.
Funny thing is I’ve never gained any ‘enjoyment’ from it, unlike tumblr.
I’ll admit I do hardly post on here (I don’t really know who actually reads what I post anyway haha) but it doesn’t mean I’m not on this site. I like scrolling through tumblr because of the images I love to follow, the people I follow (that I don’t feel like I have to follow), I can express myself more (no family or work mates = no filter) and its more therapeutic than Facebook’s cliché.
The only problem is messenger, friends contact me more frequently on there than they do through texting. So I will have to keep that open, I will seem “online” but I won’t see the Facebook ‘Feed.’ And I may have to bloody log on for my second job for CQ dammit, now come to think of it.
But the goal isn’t to remove myself completely, I just need to detox ;)
