Blog Cleanup: Moving on to Other Stuff
I know I don’t have a huge following and some of it could probably care less about this, but I’m moving on from Naruto. I’ve had this blog since 2014 and I never dedicated myself to find a way to use it properly; up until now. However, I’ll keep my namesake as a way to remember the great times I had in the fandom.
A little context: Naruto has been a huge part of my life ever since I discovered it at 8 years old. I grew up with it and some of its key topics forged the person I am today. Even though I was made fun of in secondary school because of it, I stuck to it, and I never gave up on what I like despite being considered a weirdo for it. I was on Tumblr the day the manga ended, and I was there too when the anime ended. The journey has been really fun while it lasted
As I write this note, I’m at my “what’s 9 plus 10″ year. A lot happened ever since I entered adulthood and I don’t connect to Naruto as much anymore. For 14 months now, I’ve been battling depression and recently discovered that I have ADHD - not an easy pill to swallow (pun unintended). Dealing with those made me realize that I need to reorganize my life and to follow what truly makes me happy. Unfortunately, Naruto doesn’t “sparks joy” anymore and I have to move on.
All this to say that I will fully dedicate my blog to Attack on Titan, Haikyuu!!, and Jujustu Kaisen from now on. If you do not enjoy these, you can unfollow me. I completely understand and wish you the best for the future.
With love, Onyx xxx
Thank you for the amazing 15 years Naruto!👏🏿😆
kishimoto: *announces naruto gaiden*
me:It's such a good thing that the manga ended with Sakura and Ino being married all those years later and Sasuke and Naruto not being terrible fathers together.
kishimoto:*releases naruto gaiden*
me:Such a good thing that all the ninjas aren't heterosexual and married....such a good thing....what a nice ending....
I guess I'll start reading tokyo ghoul... I wanted to watch the anime but I don't trust studio pierrot.
feelings...
Thank You
Last week, when I read the 700th chapter I got a little nostalgic, but I didn't cry or feel as empty as I thought I would, but today... Today I woke up and quickly snatched my phone because I "needed to read the new chapter" and that's when it hit me, that there wasn't one. I'm SO used to new mangas every thursday/wednesday that when I realized that there wouldn't be any for the rest of my life. Tears dropped out of my eyes like a waterfall. Thank you kishimoto, for giving me a character that taught me to never give up, to chase my dreams and never change my priorities and ideals. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to every week. Thank you for all the tears and the laughs and the moments. I was so busy watching Naruto and the rest grow up that I forgot I grew up as well. I grew up to team seven. And konoha, and in the darkest days I thought "I can't leave until my baby is a Hokage" So thank you. Not only to Kishimoto but also.
Thank you, Uzumaki Naruto.
This is the little comic strip featured in my Naruto farewell found here: http://entou.tumblr.com/post/102249524257/a-fond-farewell-to-the-naruto-story
I'll admit, drawing this did choke me up quite a bit. :'(
