The more I notice/know more directing/editing details on Ryland Grace and Eva Stratt scenes in PHM, the more I'm convinced that some of the people heavily in charge with the film are Strattland shippers.

Because what do you mean Grace was dancing with a mop that has the exact shade of Stratt's hair color?

What do you mean that she only smiles when she's with him?

What do you mean the directors said Stratt never smiled again after the Hail Mary launched and only got her smile back when she watched Grace's video logs when the beetles returned?

What do you mean she had her tattoo 'life without parole' on the same spot where he was injected when he was sedated?

What do you mean he remembers her face along with Yao when he didn't have any pictures of her as reference?

What do you mean that when Stratt went to guide him to his seat after his "whoop there it is" he instinctively grabbed her hand?

What do you mean that he asked her "what are you going to do for the next twenty years, you got a plan?" on February 14th of all dates?

What do you mean the directors confirmed Stratt left him the fox keychain that were along his things that were packed when he went aboard the Hail Mary?

What do you mean Ryan Gosling said Hail Mary is bit of a RomCom in an interview?

What do you mean they were staring at each other with heart eyes throughout that karaoke scene?

What do you mean that the editors had a hard time cutting the some of their scenes because it was too romantic?

What do you mean that in 2022 draft she got him an ice cream soft serve machine aboard the Vat because he misses it and in the movie he got his supply of Twizzlers candies?

What do you mean that in 2022 draft she was the last thing he saw and her name is the last word he uttered before being sent into space?

What do you mean that in 2022 draft when Grace was in Erid and he heard that the sun/Sol survived, he looked up the sky and said 'Good work, Stratt'?

What do you mean that in 2022 draft Grace's final word to Stratt in his video logs was "Take care" with a warm look on his face?

What do you mean you casted Ryan Gosling and Sandra Huller who had so much chemistry on screen?

What do you mean with all of that huh? Screenplay, script writers, casting, director people??

Are most of them Strattland shippers and had an agenda this whole film? If so they must be so happy right now lol.

Six - UT!Spamton + Spamtenna

tbf he usually just find nicknacks, pins, high quality string, shiny fabrics in the trash (and in this case some random IV emblem which he saw as 'TV') he attaches to clothing or adds to a goodies pile for Tenna.

I also like to think Spamton is typically off solo (doing 'work' if there is any, or scavenging) a lot of the time since Tenna's ability to recharge and stay aware are super fucked up from collective damage over his underground existence (water damage, wear, falling from a high distance, ect). Tenna is actively upset about this cause he will just miss out on Spamtons daytime hours from this.

Tenna also cannot sew (since he only has one arm) and Spamton usually does it all for him when hes sleeping (he will deny this).

Not that Tenna doesn't show appreciation.

I’ve never been a fan of relationships that were “meant to be.”

At worst, it feels lazy. The narrative tells us two people were made for each other, then fails to put in the work to make us believe it. Or else it strips the characters of autonomy. It makes it seem like there was only one way to live, only one way to be. It feels… constricting. Limiting. To take away the decisions the characters could have made, the countless diverging paths they could have gone down, and say they would have always been together, because it was dictated by fate.

But then Arcane gave us Jayce and Viktor. Two souls, cosmically intertwined and bound. In every reality, every timeline. Meant to be, but not because of fate.

Meant to be because in every timeline, they craved knowledge. Meant to be because in every timeline, they shared the same dream - a dream of light. Of progress and learning and beauty beyond the world of chaos and cruelty and prejudice and pain that they were thrust into, alone. Meant to be because they worked at it, desperately. Because they spent years of hectic days and sleepless nights, trying to decode the secrets of the arcane. Because they did all this together.

Jayce and Viktor, ripping the strings of fate from reality itself to bind themselves together. Meant to be, but not because of the universe, or some unknown power, or the focus of the narrative on one single form of happiness, one single type of love.

Meant to be because they worked and suffered and endured, together, for each other. For their shared dream. Because even after it all fell apart, their bond persisted. Because at the end of the world, they forgave each other, and knowing how it would end… they chose to try again. (And again, and again, and again.)

Meant to be because they chose each other, and always have, and always will.
