Reflection - Leaving Revolutionary Paris
After Visiting each of these moments in Paris, from the fall of Bastille - to the March on the Palace of Versailles - to the tense capture in the Varennes - and the later violence of the Revolution, it is clear how quickly events changed. At the beginning, the energy felt powerful and hopeful when people demanded change and a challenge for the monarchy. However, as time went on, the atmosphere became more serious and eventually more fearful.
Each place I visited Showed me a different stage of the revolution. The early moments were filled with unity and determination, while the later events unraveled division, tension, and uncertainty. Experiencing these moments made it easier to understand how the revolution developed and why it became more extreme over time.
Leaving Paris now, it feels like I have witnessed not just a series of events, but a transformation of an entire society. The revolution not only changed the relationship between the people and their government but also showed the difficulties and how complex that change can be.
