Hey while youre looking for something to read how about stopping over to read my novel? Updates are twice daily!!!!!!
But Moose what's it about?
Im so glad you asked! Fantasy, romance, court drama, political games, fairies, changelings, government conspiracies. I mean seriously people let's get in on this action! Whats this???????? Can it be a snippet time:
I refused to drink. Celebrating reunions? I was just torn from my friends and they were wherever his kingship had wished. I didn’t need to celebrate anything he had said. No one seemed to care either that I didn’t drink. They all returned to their own conversations and now I was left less than alone but in a far worse spot.
My eyes slowly moved to my left as I watched Dimitris staring with those eyes that reminded me so much of Nok’s. He caught me looking though and he sighed putting down his cup.
“It’s customary to salute your host and drink with the others.” That voice was far too welcoming considering it had ordered the arrest of my friends and detainment of myself just hours ago.
My hands remained in my lap as I struggled to think of a good response. One wrong move and suddenly I was unappreciative and my friends were gonners. Everyone else always seemed better at holding conversations than me. Dreyma would have definitely had something to say. I was nothing here, I was the southern bitch according to the servants. I closed my eyes taking slow breaths through my nose. The last thing I needed was to kick up a wind storm. I had etiquette training, why could I not recall any of it now? It was meant for this exact moment and now I was failing.
Dimitris took the chance and raised his glass taking a short sip before twirling the long stem in his fingers, “Nothing to say to me then?”
I continued looking down shaking my head.
“That’s disappointing.” There was a wiff of wind that blew passed me that caused me to look over at him finally. “You look exactly as how I expected you to by the way, not at all how the stories have come to me.”
“Excuse me?” It was causing me to relax slightly if only to be able to answer him.
“The stories I’ve heard about you dear. They call you a hideous abomination, some wild changeling from the south that wants to destroy me.”
“Funny.” I half smiled back, “I’ve heard similar things about you.”
“Oh really?” He leaned forward now becoming engaged in the conversation, “You’ve heard of my cruelty from my brother I guess?”
I shrugged, “Doesn’t help that you sent the head of my friend to me with an invitation here.”
“She pissed me off.” He grumbled and sat back, “Besides, I don't think she was exactly your friend.”
He was more right than he knew but I didn’t care. He still killed Lyra. It caused me to tighten my hands in my lap, a detail he also didn’t seem to miss.
“You can relax darling. I’m not going to hurt you.” he shrugged then a thought came to him before he corrected his statement, “Well at the present moment I have no plans to hurt you.”
